aboz56
JD will be at the game off the bench and in the game when it counts, at the end. Ozzie won't have it any other way.

rangercal
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) JD will be at the game off the bench and in the game when it counts, at the end. Ozzie won't have it any other way. Im sure Ozzie would not like to see Dye Start the All Star Game another thing to note: if we get Dye in as a starter, it would make room for one more non yankee/redsox player possibly an extra white sox. Gene Honda Civic
Save your time.... Either Ozzie appoints him, or he's on the 32nd man ballot. Then we'll get him in. There's no way he starts, don't bother.

greasywheels121
I'm just doing my regular voting on this. I don't think there's a shot in hell that anyone on the Sox is starting. Joe Crede or PK is a better bet, since they only have to pass 2 people and not 7. I'll go all out if we're on that 32nd ballot again, but I don't see this happening at all. BigSqwert
QUOTE(Felix @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:43 PM) Does it hurt to try? Yes. Ballot stuffing can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome.

Cardinal fans do it all the time Not saying we have more fans than the cardinals, but with that population they have over there, and own the balloting every year, I think we can make a run with Dye. Chicago Population 2,783,726 ST Louis 396,685 Cardinal players get in regardless of the popularity. If they have the stats, they are in. Every year. We are the World Champs. Dye has arguably the best stats of any AL outfielder . He is definately leaps and bounds ahead of Damon. We have plenty of time to get the World Series MVP to start the All star game. rangercal
We are The World Champs in the 3rd Largest Market. Top 10 in attendence. Trying to get The World Series MVP to start. Only 200 k votes behind. And already we have so many naysayers. If you dont want to vote, dont. But dont encourage others not to. This is a Pro Vote thread. If we can gain momentum with this, I can see Brooks Boyer doing something like he did with Pods. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) I'll continue to do my best. You fillit out the first time, and every time after that the computer remembers your votes. It takes about 15 seconds average for every ballot. Ive been voting in between reading threads. You just type in the serial number, a few clicks and you're done.

Allowing the fans to vote may have some merit, but it's just way too easy to commit fraud. The best players don't get voted in... the ones with the most aggressive fans do. And MLB doesn't care. :headshake

And how is Dye getting in over Damon not getting the better player in? Well, sure, the whole system is flawed. That's my point. I'm not arguing that you shouldn't do what you're doing, either. It's just a completely asinine system. I'm sure that MLB could do something to ensure that a person could only vote once. Like maybe tying your vote to your phone number or something.
