Guest JimH
Why is Ozzie going to keep Vazquez in the game? Foolish decision What's his pitch count, I think he's at about 100. If not him, who? Texas hitters love fastballs, watch out who you bring in here. It looks like Vazquez gets another hitter or two or three.

Felix
QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 09:31 PM) What's his pitch count, I think he's at about 100. If not him, who? Cotts? Thornton?
Guest JimH
Ozzie is pushing these starters to go deeper into the games. He wants 7 innings out of these guys. Cotts in. Note that one of his first comments after the game last nite was Garland threw well but he also threw a ton of pitches in the first 5 innings. He wants the starters to be more economical, that has everything to do with hitting location and making a big pitch vs. the opposition fouling off dozens of pitches. Guest JimH
Vazquez had 7 K's tonite. Not bad at all. Harrelson stating Vazquez didn't get close pitches tonite, he is right.

Guest JimH
Cotts has got to get Kinsler out. That simple. Ok good, he gets the job done. Sox by 3.

Guest JimH
Ok strategists, lefty brought in to face Mackowiak, do you let him hit or do you pinch hit Brian Anderson for him to give Anderson some confidence and replace Mack defensively?

Guest JimH
Welcome Juan Extremely interesting to me. He pinch hits Uribe for the switch hitting Cintron, clearly the advantage is defense. He did not do that with Anderson for Mackowiak. What does that tell you? Let's see what people say. I think I know exactly why.

Felix
QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) Extremely interesting to me. He pinch hits Uribe for the switch hitting Cintron, clearly the advantage is defense. He did not do that with Anderson for Mackowiak. What does that tell you? Let's see what people say. I think I know exactly why. Juan has been hitting better recently, while Cintron has basically sucked in May. Thats probably the reason why (along with the defense of course)
