Kalapse
There are hardly any teams looking to unload right now and what ever teams are looking to move is not going to help this team.
sircaffey
Mike Gonzalez and Salomon Torres, your Sox jersey's are made...

fathom
Gonzalez would cost the Sox some big time prospects. The last thing we need is another lefty reliever. Also....S. Torres is BAD! He's definitely not afraid to blow a game.
Flash Tizzle
Check our minor league system. Surely there's one contributing arm.
WilliamTell
lol I know I'm in desperate mode but why not bring Shingo back, he can't be TOO much worse than the bullpen right now.
Flash Tizzle
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 06:00 PM) lol I know I'm in desperate mode but why not bring Shingo back, he can't be TOO much worse than the bullpen right now. He wouldn't be much worse........ Problem is, he'd fit in with the rest of the pack. Giving up hard hit outs, screaming line drives, continually walking batters after getting ahead 0-2, and serving up HR's. Let Shingo stay in Japan. Kalapse
QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 05:53 PM) Mike Gonzalez and Salomon Torres, your Sox jersey's are made... We couldn't afford Gonzalez (spect wise) even if he were available and Salomon Torres is just bad. He currently has a 1.49 WHIP in the NL, imagine what that would be like against superior competition.

Well yeah we need improvement and Shingo would keep us the same.

Punch and Judy Garland
It's amazing what some people think you cna get out on the market. Remember that the M's asked for Brandon Mac last year....for Ron Villone. It's a seller's market in the summer. Get your heads out your asses people (this is a nationwide fan problem too)
winninguglyin83
Carl Everett and Robbie Alomar should be available any day.

At least it worked out regarding Carl Everett.

Perhaps he can 'pull an Everett' and grab Marte or Vizcaino again? They seemed to have gotten things back on track.

Felix
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 07:26 PM) Perhaps he can 'pull an Everett' and grab Marte or Vizcaino again? They seemed to have gotten things back on track. Vizcaino was never really off the track. He was a good pitcher last year, and trading him wasn't the best thing in the world to do. RockRaines
I do believe it was Mark who lost the game for us today, not the pen.

Dick Allen
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) It didn't help that the pen also gave up 4 runs today. 3 were by Politte, and 1 given up by Montero. You can pretty much bank on each of them giving up runs when they enter the game. I don't think Ozzie wants to put either in a game that is not decided, and I doubt either will be with the team much longer. That funky motion
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) It didn't help that the pen also gave up 4 runs today. It also did'nt help that the defence let him down, which in turn led to runs, and a higher pitch count.
greg775
Is Howry doing the Cubs any good? How bout Howry? Is that stiff Chen on the Orioles capable of middle relief? Trade some Class A guy for Chen and/or Howry.
Kalapse
QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 07:41 PM) Is Howry doing the Cubs any good? How bout Howry? Is that stiff Chen on the Orioles capable of middle relief? Trade some Class A guy for Chen and/or Howry. Chen is the worst pitcher in baseball right now and Bobby Howry would still be incredibly expensive if you tried to acquire him. Middle relievers with 2.36 ERAs on teams with high payrolls that think they still have a chance to compete do not come cheap.
MSHAWKS
Who da thunk we'd be pining for the days of Dumb-Asswhole Marte and Luis Vizcaino? Edited June 5, 2006 by MSHAWKS
That funky motion
After Howry ripped the Sox,no way. I would bring back Marte before that jag!
