jackparkman
since the sox changed stations I have found myself listening to more of the score, namley more bohrs and brenstien than Mac, jurko, harry. I used to never listen to the score. anyone else jumped stations since the sox came to the score. big mike murphy is still the all time tool of the week though
southsider2k5
Nope. I still can't stand SCR, although there isn't anything on AM 1000 besides MJH that I will listen to either FWIW.
That funky motion
I like B&B and hate Murph. I Like Low Hoe a lot!
The Beast
I think that Chicago sports radio went down the drain since ESPN Radio 1000 lost its rights to the White Sox. Though, Len Weiner said that they were losing money with both contracts to the Bulls and White Sox, respectively. I hate the score, and I can't stand seeing Farmio all alone without Rooney. Singleton is pathetic!
GoodAsGould
ive actually switched from the Score to ESPN 1000.... although Im not a heavy listener really anyways mostly only when im driving and sometimes b4 i go to bed.
CubsSuck1
On the score, B&B as well as Laurence Holmes put out quality shows, but North and Murphy and pathetic. For ESPN, im a fan of MJ&H and J Hood
Jimbo's Drinker
Boers and Bernsey are the best show in chicago, but they have lots of inside jokes.
whitesoxfan101
QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 01:38 AM) Boers and Bernsey are the best show in chicago, but they have lots of inside jokes. No doubt, they are strongly opinionated (which is all I ask on radio, even if we don't agree, have an opinion) and will not tolerate idiots. However most callers to sportsradio are idiots, so you get a lot of conflict. It's a spectacular show though. MJ&H and Holmes are also good. ZoomSlowik
I used to listen to sports radio a lot more than I do now. Pretty much the only guys I can still stand are Mac, Jurko and Harry and Boers and Bernstein.
chaerulez
It's a shame that Holmes can't get a steady timeslot. He should replace either Murph or North. Actually at least Murph can provide some baseball insight, but North is not qualified to talk about sports anywhere.
chimpy2121
The way my listening day goes: Salisbury and Rosey Murph B&B until 2 MJH until I leave work The only reason I put the score on, besides baseball, is to escape the Dan Patrick show. Buehrle>Wood
- I love Murph. He is the only radio guy in Chicago who will consistently talk baseball. Something key when the city's hot radio discussion is who the back-up left offensive line-man will be. Really, I don't care. - The Score needs to learn that you don't need an arrogant radio personality to be successful. See Mike and Mike in the Morning for reference. - Mike North is fine. I think he's a good fit for the morning lineup, just not well suited anywhere else. - Boers and Bernstein are unlistenable. And before the "Oh you just don't understand their show comments", I do. Their act/gimmick has gotten tiresome.
retro1983hat
Chicago radio died the day they split up the Score personalities. North and Jiggets followed by McNeil and Boers were the best. The transition between those shows was priceless. McNeil acted like a 300-lbs baby after that because the Score took Mike North's side vs. his. And North became even more of a primadonna after that. The Monsters of the Mid-day followed by the Heavy Fuel Crew was the high time in Chicago radio.
AbeFroman
Mike North Sucks... period. I wish there were are real local sports radio show on in the morning. I really don't like the national stuff with Mike and Mike, but I have no choice given how terrible Mike North is. I like the score at nights when Zach Zademan and Lawrence Holmes co-host. B & B are great... MJH are very good as well. Carmen and Silvy, well, i miss them... I really hate salisbury
GoodAsGould
I like listening to the Mike North show.... its entertaining and he gets a lot of good interviews. Thats not to say I agree with North's views I almost disagree on all accounts but I still enjoy the show. Its possibly the only thing I enjoy on the score anymore..... Mike & Mike occasionally have something to say. Otherwise, they regurgitate everything. North is OK. Boers & Bernstein are excellent

Rex Kickass
Hey, in New Jersey, I just get WFAN. Where if it isn't Yankees, Mets, Giants or Jets, it doesn't exist. After the SuperBowl, they were talking about the Mets. The Mets! Last time I checked, they didn't play in any SuperBowl ever. They didn't even mention the game outside of the updates. Greg The Bull Luzinski
I think the Score, aside from White Sox games, is intolerable. When I actually have had the Score on, it seems that they have 10 minutes of commercials for every 10 minutes of programming.

Its one thing I hated about it when I used to listen to the score a lot... id drive to harper a 15-20 min drive and more than half the time it would be on commercials..... Its one thing I hated about it when I used to listen to the score a lot... id drive to harper a 15-20 min drive and more than half the time it would be on commercials..... I actually think that with updates, traffic and what not there is less talk then this other stuff. There is no flow on that station because they are always breaking into something else. I can not stand that station and they killed the Sox for me as far as the radio goes. Ranger is pretty good though for pre and post, I just can not get into the radio tandem. Murphy, B&B are worthless. North is Ok. I actually like Mike & Mike and think MJH are very good but the commercials are to much here to. I liked Stern because there was 15 minutes of commercials but then a good 40 of content. Sports radio seems like 6 of adds, updates, traffic etc. and then 5 of content. Sports talk is just a filler for the endless commercials.

The Monsters of the Mid-day followed by the Heavy Fuel Crew was the high time in Chicago radio. Couldn't agree more - Ebony & Ivory was the best! Now my day is divided as follows: Mike and Mike Switch to North at 9:00 to avoid Rosenbloom Switch to Dan Patrick at 2:00 to avoid Boring and Bernstein MJH for the drive home It's a shame I have to switch up and back to avoid abrasive jerks - to Boring everyone but him is a pud or an asshole or worse. Rosenbloom pontificates for three hours - Sports talk sure has gone down the crapper since the SCORE switched the line up years back.
