Kalapse
It has now begun, Jeff Nelson has played the "you don't do that" card. You don't rat on the guys in the baseball fraternity? Come on Jeff, Jason cut himself a deal, he gives up the names and he's probably not going to see any jail time. You'd do the same damn thing if you were in his situation. The majority of baseball players are probably going to say similar things where you shouldn't be ratting on your fellow players. This whole thing is going to get incredibly ugly and I'm gonna love every minute of it. Changes will be comming and it's going to make for a more pure game, until of course the next thing comes around and the system is cheated again. AbeFroman
QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 05:01 PM) wow.... I'd be pissed if I were the Feds... Now the cover is blown on their investigation. Whoever's names are blacked out probably realize they could be nailed soon too.... So they will all destroy their evidence (that is the evidence they control). Actually, I retract my previous statement. These names were blacked out.... obviously it was done by someone with the Federal Prosecutor's office. Hmm... maybe other warrants are out there. Maybe they wanted this leaked.... on their own terms... with names blacked out.
Kalapse
When of the things I havn't heard mentioned is the fact that Grimsley, who is going to go down as probably the beginning of the end of this era is in fact a pitcher. After all the talk about Bonds, McGuire, Sosa and Giambi all these sluggers that have been mentioned and hardly any pitchers, what? Roger Clemems? It's amazing that the guy who will bring it all down is just some relief pitcher who's been hanging around for what seems like forever, jumping from team to team, making more and more contacts. Also, how long until we hear "GrimsleyGate"? You know it's bound to happen.

Kalapse
Another great thing about this situation is the fact that Grimsley was taking and supplying HGH, the holy grail of performance enhancers to athletes and not just another steroid, it will be simply impossible for Fehr, Selig or any other f***tard with any affiliation to the game to ignore the glaring problem that is HGH use in baseball. This is the best thing to hit baseball since those 2 monstrous f***s hit all those HRs back in '98.
whitesoxfan101
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:34 PM) Wasn't Grimsley also a teammate of a certain pitcher who is very large, in his mid 40's, who recently signed a contract, and is still bringing gas ? If you look at Grimsley, you probably would have never guessed he was juicing from looking at his body or his performance. I think this goes to show there are or at least were a ton of guys juicing you wouldn't have suspected, including White Sox players. Roger Clemens on steroids? HOW DARE YOU!! After all, when I suggested as much last week, everybody jumped on me. No way he could be doing something illegal!! :rolly 2 names in that thing are Clemens and Sosa, guaranteed just based on reading the affadavit. After that, who knows.....I can't wait to see what is behind that black marker though.
AbeFroman
Wasn't Jason Grimsley also the guy who tried to break into the umpire's room at Comiskey to replace Albert Belle's corked bat? If my memory serves me correctly (and I think it does), he was the guy on cleveland that was skinny enough to get into the air conditioning vent to try and steal the bat. what a cheater

Also, how long until we hear "GrimsleyGate"? You know it's bound to happen. It was said from the beginning that relieve pitchers were going to be the biggest culprits in the steroid investigation. We hear about the big home run hitters because they are breaking records and are constantly in the spot light. Also, a lot of people have given them a free pass, IMO, because they had to face these enormous hitters. Right or wrong, I don't know. On the Clemens topic, watch for a sudden "injury" that doesn't allow him to make to the bigs. I doubt he's dumb enough to come back now if he actually uses this stuff. Kalapse
Everyone goes for the regression after testing angle but that really doesn't fit when most players are probably smart enough to use HGH. Also when it comes down to a players looks, does Grimsley look like a juicer to anyone? I'm not going to go through that whole thread but I assume it escalated from there. I tend to stay out of anything involving Clemens simply because I dislike the guy so much. Also, I'm one of those people who hates steroid speculation and such simply because I think it's pointless and irresponsible not to mention it takes any fun out of baseball. That's also why this is such a momentus occation for me.

Benchwarmerjim
I was surprised to learn that Grimsley was still pitching! ---- QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 03:07 PM) I don't give a s*** if they implicate numerous former or current White Sox players, I just really want to see some names thrown out there. This whole thing should lead to a blood test for HGH, Grimsley's situation should make the human growth hormone problem a major focal point. Just a damn shame they never got to play on the same team. Could you imagine a collision at the plate between those two? That would be too much for me to handle, actually I think I had a dream like that once, of course there were no clothes involved in that one and it wasn't so much of a collision more of a playful scuffle . . . in a kiddy pool full of rubbing oil. Swingandalongonetoleft
My favorite is how guys like Albert Pujols were "saving" baseball this year. It's '98 all over again. Easy to see why Bert took the time to defend Barroid a few weeks ago.
