Official Day 2 Draft Thread

Recommended Posts

Interesting draft today. The first two picks are +value/-signability guys. Last year Danks was the first round of day 2, same deal.

Ken Williams Jr. played in 7 games for Arizona with a single in his only at-bat.

I'm looking up stats on Wright, but nothing so far. The Florida CC league posts stats, but can't find Wright's numbers.

Which is I think the way you should go early on day 2. Hopefully we go a bit better at signing these guys, although Danks was always going to go to college.

Here is some more info on the 23rd pick. Villalobos: He's actually between 5'-10"-5'-11" 190 lbs. He graduated from Glendora high school, same school as former sox Aaron Rowand. In the 2003 draft some teams looked to draft him in rounds 4-6. He attended Long Beach State . Part way through his fresh. year at lbsu his style and mechanics where changed, it didn't work for him, it caused a location problem and then the "confidence" problem was created. He transferred to Chaffey Col. and the coaching staff returned him to his normal form. His last 33 innings of the regular season he gave up two runs(unearned).Googleing him says overall era 2.87and led his confernce with a era of 0.00. He's high 80's low 90's lefty with a lot movement, two seam, 4 seam, slider, curve and change.
