GoRowand33
we might not be in first place, but 5-0 against Detroit that is pretty good seeing as they're pounding the rest of our division
Wolverine31
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 02:42 AM) someone needs to update the standings on the front page. Im disgusted by the lack of timely updates. The Sox take it to the Tigers prized prospect once again. Verlander still pitched well, but Jose pretty much matched him inning for inning. Jenks was awesome once again, Neal Cotts looked really good in his outing, Thome jacked one, it was a pretty good night at the cell all things considered. the sox look like they are picking up a little swagger again. Verlander didn't pitch that great but kept the team in the game. He only lost because of a pathetic offensive lineup that hacks at everything and couldn't buy a hit with RISP if their life depended on it. I keep saying if this team does not acquire a bat at the trade deadline, they are done. The last 2 losses hurt to lose in the late innings like that. greg775
It would be nice to see Detroit fall apart. They are scary. Thanks to Maggs for hitting into a DP (and Bobby for making that happen) and thanks to Cintron for his clutch homer. Obviously we could have lost 2 in a row instead of won both of em. whitesoxfan101
Like last night, Absolut, Dye, and Jenks come up HUGE!! Unlike last night, our starting pitcher and Thome are solid. Like last night, it's a huge 4-3 win over the Tigers. Tigers=0-5 against us. Let's make it 0-6 and a 0.5 game lead for the good guys in the Central tomorrow night. SoxAce
So I haven't posted a good while here. Besides the soon-to-be retirement of Nelson, Pollite injured, the mlb draft, us winning the first two against Detroit, and everyone moving up on the ballot for the all-star game, anything else I missed? shoota
Nice job by Cintron and Thome picking up Crede's two errors that cost the Sox the lead in the 7th inning.
greg775
Crede also got on base and scored the winning run. What's your man hate of Crede all about. The guy is a stud. You could have a lot worse third basemen out there.

LosMediasBlancas
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:39 PM) Jenks seems to have come around. Really? I don't remember him not being around.
Kalapse
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 08:34 AM) Really? I don't remember him not being around. There's a reason why his ERA is still over 3, he was giving up a good amount of hits early in the season and just didn't look sharp (numerous 2-3 run outings) he's stopped giving up hits all together now and hasn't allowed a run in his last 9 outings. NYSox35
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 09:37 AM) There's a reason why his ERA is still over 3, he was giving up a good amount of hits early in the season and just didn't look sharp (numerous 2-3 run outings) he's stopped giving up hits all together now and hasn't allowed a run in his last 9 outings. Agreed, he was getting saves, but he was always giving up a run or two along the way. He's been rock solid as of late.
