shoota
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) There is plenty of "I dislike Pods, but..." "I dislike Freddy, but..." There is a difference between criticism and whining about everything a player does wrong. We only whine because we care.
greg775
Meatball. Shoulda slammed that pitch into rf. Sick swing on strike two.

There is a difference between criticism and whining about everything a player does wrong. I do dislike Podsednik as do many people but that's not every player on the team. If they're going to suck (Freddy, yes he has sucked) then people are not going to like them. It's hard to like a player that's not producing. If they're going to suck (Freddy, yes he has sucked) then people are not going to like them. It's hard to like a player that's not producing. But he is producing. Good enough not to be hated on like he is. I mean, he's a pitcher on the White Sox. They should all get the benefit of the doubt. I feel like I'm baseball prospectus here soemtimes and not a white sox fan site. Edited June 12, 2006 by jphat007

Capn12
This great OBP you guys keep harping about for Pods currently ranks him 9th out of the 14 normal starting leadoff hitters....thats supposed to be his saving grace?
fathom
Note to Brian.... when you're f***ing terrible at the plate, don't fake a bunt on a first pitch fastball down the plate. I love hitters who are 3-37 with RISP.
greg775
Horrific at bat especially since pitcher who was throwing some meat up there early in count.

greg775
It's pretty bad when a pitcher walks a Cintron (no offense to Cintron, I like him) to get to Anderson.
Ndgt10
He starts 0-2 every at bat. I have no idea why he took that 1st pitch. He was hoping for the walk. He knew he already got his hit for the month.

He's allowing a s*** load of baserunners and some how keeping them from scoring, you can't get away with that forever. I refuse to give players the benifit of the doubt for the rest of their careers because of one season, it's '06 everything starts over new. DBAHO
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 11:25 AM) Note to Brian.... when you're f***ing terrible at the plate, don't fake a bunt on a first pitch fastball down the plate. I love hitters who are 3-37 with RISP. I wonder if they were Ozzie's instructions. Of course there was a time BA swung at the 1st pitch in a similar situation, and lined out to 3rd, and people were flaming him for not working the count. greg775
The bright spot is the way we've been pulling games out late as of late. This game has a similar story line.

Of course there was a time BA swung at the 1st pitch in a similar situation, and lined out to 3rd, and people were flaming him for not working the count. That might have been before people realized how blessed we are whenever Anderson makes contact. That out you talk about might have been my epiphany for much he sucks. I didn't see the play, but saw the replay on it. If you were to believe what people were saying on here, it was the hardest hit line drive in history. When I saw the replay, I couldn't but help think it was a broken bat liner (not exactly a rocket) to the 3B.
