fathom
QUOTE(daa84 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 02:52 AM) AJ got plunked twice with the first pitch....hawk got pissed and IMO he had every right to be... alot of soxtalkers are saying they were embarassed that hawk said the sox should retaliate None of us would have cared if he just said they should retaliate. I can't believe he said some of the s*** he did.
jphat007
QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:54 PM) thanks I bet tracy doesn't have the balls to intentionally hit someone yet I don't think that's it. I think he just isn't very good, and has zero control. He can't throw it where he wants to.
G&T
QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 09:54 PM) Maybe he was pissed cause they didn't have the cell's there yet.. Well if it was a wireless, he could have thrown the phone at Padilla himself.
SoxFan1
QUOTE(daa84 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 09:38 PM) yeah and padilla throwing at AJs head with a 90 mph hardball isnt bulls***...please...this is baseball, not golf I gotta agree. We should have retaliated somehow. In baseball, retaliation is acceptable and acknowledged. Fights happen, it's part of the game. Bad call on the ump to take away any chance of retaliation for the Sox. If your guy gets thrown at twice, you throw at their guys too. Thats baseball. Now, Hawk, being the old school SOB that he is, went crazy with the kneecap and wait outside the hotel room thing. And personally, I like it. jphat007
I just watched the fight from the Detroit game in 2000 the other day. That thing was so bad ass. Bill Simas coming running into the pile. FIck acting like an asshole. Surprisingly, Hawk wasn't as talkative as I remember. Just kinda sat there and watched. There were like 2 big fights and a mini fight that day. Awesome. First, we'd have to hit the ball hard against Padilla to take out a knee. Second, that would have been great to see. However, Hawk sounded like he was rooting for an injury to happen. Well, considering that was my main argument for why I'm not 100 pct sure the 2nd HBP was intentional, I definitely understand what you're saying. I just hope Ozzie doesn't throw a hissy-fit about the Tracey incident. If Ozzie wanted something done, he could have told his buddy Montero to do it. You look at a guy like Tracey, fresh up from the minors, still not used to big league hitting, he doesnt wanna make a mistake and have Ozzie(who is notorious for) sending him back down to the minors. Hes buddy-buddy with Montero, why not have him do your dirty work?

If Ozzie wanted something done, he could have told his buddy Montero to do it. First of all, he shouldn't have to tell anybody on his team to do anything. They should know. Not only did Vazquez not plunk a guy, he didn't even make them move their feet. And I'm talking about after Pierzynski was hit the first time. There was no mistake IMO about Padilla's intent either time, but especially the first. That, to me, was a no doubter. Where is Vazquez the very next inning? No warning had been issued yet. Maybe getting drilled will give Pierzynski the idea that it's a good idea to pitch the opposition inside. Everything Vazquez got hurt on tonite was due to him throwing pitches on the outer half. The Sox starters need to do a lot better job establishing the inside strike, and part of that is the catcher's responsibility. It's a team game and lots of guys didn't do their jobs tonite.
