Notice how D.J. was trying to restore some professionalism, but Hawk would have none of it.

 

Not that I disagree with the sentiments of what Hawk was saying, but it was very unprofessional for the "voice of the White Sox" to be calling for line drives off the ptcher's kneecap and advocating waiting for him outside the clubhouse.

The real problem here is the Sox are still using that outdated technology--a land line from the dugout to the bullpen. Seeing that it was in Texas, the Rangers probably intercepted the call and relayed the wrong message to the bullpen. They've been known to do things like that--ask Buerhle about the lights in CF.

 

Hawk has ALWAYS been like this, its what endears him to SOX fans. It would be worse if BOTH announcers started saying the same thing, I like that DJ took the other side of the coin regarding that matter. I had no problem with it, as soon as AJ got hit twice, I yelled TWICE? and Hawk was right there with the viewers' sentiment. That just tells me Hawk is still in tune with whats happening, I had no problem with it. Hawk is from the old-school, you have to remember that. Trying to censor him now would just make the network and him look bad.

 

As for the outdated technology comment, that was HILARIOUS heh heh hehe hehe ehehe

I think AJ probbaly figures this is just part of the game of baseball. Why he was being thrown at is a question though. The Sox aren't intimidated and you don't see them crying about it like so many other teams do meaning the Rangers. The best way to show them your utter disdain is beat their butts on the field of play and win the game.
