ShoeLessRob
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 07:07 PM) f*** you Pods. What a horses*** jump. Atleast if Pablo would have been in left he would have shown some effort for that ball.
fathom
I'm not blaming Ozzie for this, but I'm still puzzled why he went out to talk to Contreras. He was pitching great, and he seemed to lose his release point after Hatteberg.
greg775
Do you think that was Pods' fault or was it tough to read off the bat because the guy took such a massive cut?
WilliamTell
haha we'll play NL style and walk the 8th batter.
fathom
QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 12:07 AM) Atleast if Pablo would have been in left he would have shown some effort for that ball. When they show the replay, he was standing still until about 2 seconds before it hit the ground.
Dick Allen
Why does Pods play Kearns 3 feet from the warning track?

Doesn't matter....this is an easy left field to play anyways, with it being so shallow.

fathom
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 12:09 AM) Why does Pods play Kearns 3 feet from the warning track? He plays everyone that far away. Maybe that's why he's never thrown out a runner at home in his Sox career.

greg775
That will be a s*** way for Jose to possibly lose a game. On a sawed off bat type bloop.
Capn12
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 08:09 PM) Why does Pods play Kearns 3 feet from the warning track? Pods would play Rafeal Belliard that deep. Its how he compensates for his s***ty defense..doesnt let anything get behind him, and uses his speed to make what would be normal plays into looking like diving catches. Guest JimH
When they show the replay, he was standing still until about 2 seconds before it hit the ground. Tough to say but in my view Podsednik has got to do everything he can to make that catch ... like dive for it. Kearns was gonna run anyways so what's the difference if he ended up on 2nd. Of course the walk and wild pitch are not Podsednik's fault though.
