Jimbo's Drinker
1. Hawk goes over the meaning of Heineybird, direct result of latest s*** piece by marriot. "A hineybird is a bird that flies around in perfectly executed concentric circles until finally it flies up its own behind, and *POOF*, disappears forever." 2. DJ- When Quinton McCracken comes to the plate, DJ goes here is the brother of Phil..haha

beautox
I thought it was great when Hawk was telling DJ about him going to lots of Highschool games in FL, and DJ responds with "you can't be going to game, people will be coming up to you yelling HAWK! HAWK!" ahh classic.

RibbieRubarb
QUOTE(wsox08 @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 01:11 PM) I love Hawk and DJ. They are really beginning to develop some nice chemistry.

"A hineybird is a bird that flies around in perfectly executed concentric circles until finally it flies up its own behind, and *POOF*, disappears forever." The funniest part of that was when DJ immediately afterward said "That's kind of like a Phoenix. Wait, no. No it's not." So off-base on that one. mmmmmbeeer
I like how DJ snidely made the remark that Hawk appearing in one of Moron's articles actually gave Hawk some press. I think DJ appreciated the irony in his statement. I think the irony was lost on Hawk.
Heath
I thought Hawk was nobody without Wimpy. DJ is almost Wimpy-like. I actually enjoy Hawk - he's a homer and not afraid to show it.
Milkman delivers
DJ is just far and away better than Hawk. DJ gets me to laugh a whole lot these days.
illinilaw08
Yeah, DJ has really grown on the job, going into last year I really couldn't stand him, nowhe is an excellent color guy and a good complement to Hawk.

Dick Allen
DJ has really improved. He may be smarter than Hawk, but I don't think so baseball-wise. Besides, although DJ did work Phil McCracken into the telecast, he can never match Hawk working Catfish and Yaz in almost every night. We are due for a Frank Howard story tonight. I love the Hawk. Capn12
Kinda laughed at Hawk tonight on one of his stories.. "If the pitcher had 4 pitches, and was getting them over, I had no chance. If he had 3 pitches he could get over, I still didn't have much of a chance. About the only time I had a chance is if the guy was a 2 pitch pitcher, and couldn't get one over." Everytime I see McCracken I laugh my ass off thinking of "Phil", and they also have a player named "Freddie Sanchez" which always makes me think of "Dirty Sanchez. Brian
I must be in the minority when I say that I'm tired of Hawk's rants on Mariotti during the games. All he is doing is giving him free pub. Stick with the game, Hawk.
Kyyle23
I think Mariotti vs Hawk is probably one of the funnier things that has gone on in CHicago media in a long time. Both of them repeat their ridiculous mantra about each other pretty much every time they mention one another. Its the same thing, every time. Mariotti calls Hawk a complete homer/Reinsdorfs mouthpiece, Hawk calls Mariotti a hineybird, every time. they cannot ignore each other, Hawk would have to fill 5-10 minutes of airtime with something else and Mariotti would have to come up with column filler every other day. Mariotti used to really aggravate me with his columns, but not so much anymore. I see just as much as he does, and honestly I think this entire website(individually) has more baseball acumen/IQ/knowledge than Jay could ever have. His columns are more of a joke and knee-jerk reaction than anything else. Hawk is just a doddering old fart who is set in his ways and doesnt like hearing about his boss and himself and his team getting ripped so he tells the hineybird story(which was funny for a while, but now its getting old). I take em both with a nice dose of salt.
JoeBatterz
Jay and Hawk are both entertainers. They are almost like Pro-Wrestlers with as outlandish as they sometimes get towards each other.
