Thanks carl Some interesting stuff http://www.trentonthunder.com/release/zRel...YYMMDD=20030515 RHP CONTRERAS JOINS THUNDER Yankees make two other roster moves (Trenton, NJ)- The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced today that RHP Jose Contreras has been transferred to the Thunder from Columbus (Class AAA International League) that LHP David Glick has been placed on the Disabled List and that LHP Matt Smith has been activated off the Thunder Disabled List and transferred to Tampa (Class A Florida State League). Contreras began the 2003 season with the New York Yankees where he went 1-0 with a 10.78 ERA in five appearances out of the bullpen. Following the game on April 18 he was transferred to Columbus where he has made three starts and amassed a 2-0 record and 1.20 ERA. Contreras struck out 18 batters in 15 innings of work for the Clippers. The 6�4� Cuban was signed as a free agent by the Yankees on February 6, 2003 after playing the 2002 season with Pinar del Rio in Cuba. He is a seven year veteran of Cuba�s National Team and has a 117-50 record in Cuban League play. Glick is being placed on the Disabled List (retroactive to May 14) with a left shoulder strain. Glick has pitched in 16 games for the Thunder this year and has a record of 2-0 with a 3.55 ERA. He has thrown a total of 12.2 innings this year, most recently on May 13 against Portland in which he threw one inning and allowed one earned run. Smith began the season on the Thunder Disabled List. Last year, he split time between Tampa and Norwich (AA). With Norwich he was 3-8 with a 5.44 ERA in 17 starts and with Tampa he was 0-4 with a 6.59 ERA in eight starts. Smith was a fourth round draft pick by the Yankees in 2000.
