JTC2784
How is this a "historic rivalry" when the Yankess (since 1900) have had as many playoff births (43 if you count '94) as the Cubs have had winning seasons? Or, if you don't like giving the Cubs credit for stuff they haven't done in most of our lifetimes, since 1950, the Yanks have had 27 playoff births (if you count '94 again), while the Cubs have had a blazing THIRTEEN WINNING SEASONS. Where's the "rivalry" and this "history" between these two teams I've been hearing about? Aren't the teams supposed to be at least relatively evenly matched for a "rivalry?" Hasn't one supposed to have beaten the other at some point in history (I don't think the Cubs have beaten them in interleague play before this weekend)??? (The Cubs got swept both times they met in the World Series) I don't get this.... Source: baseball-reference.com
