CWSOX45
I didn't see this posted in the forum anywhere, and the search function wasn't woking so I thought I'd bring it up. Isn't it possible for the White Sox to get him back from the Rangers? I thought that if he was taken off their 25 man roster at any point during the season he'd come back to the Sox? I haven't heard anything, and I know he is on the DL but isn't he supposed to come off soon? I've been in Puerto Rico for a week, so maybe I missed it, can someone update me? Kalapse
He was just removed from the DL after a 28 day rehab assignment, looks like he's got a spot in their pen, I doubt they'll take him off thier 25 man roster for the rest of the season. They're going to do everything they can to hold onto him.
CWSOX45
Nevermind. The Rangers activated him and put Wasdin on the DL. Disregard this thread. DAMMIT. I really wanted him back.
Dam8610
He's as good as gone unless the Rangers make some great trades in their favor.

SadChiSoxFanOptimist
Rangers giving up on Fabio By JAN HUBBARD Star-Telegram Staff Writer DENVER -- The Rangers have been excited about the potential of 21-year-old Fabio Castro, but have decided there is not enough room on the major league roster to keep him. That puts them in the unusual position of making the decision to part paths with a left-handed reliever they like. To make room for starting pitcher Robinson Tejeda on Saturday, the Rangers designated Castro for assignment. That gives them 10 days to trade him, release him or put him on waivers. Since Castro is a Rule 5 player, if he clears waivers he has to be offered back to the White Sox, who lost him in the Rule 5 draft to Kansas City in December. The Rangers then acquired Castro for Esteban German, but Chicago still holds his Rule 5 rights. Rangers assistant general manger Thad Levine said the Rangers have interest from major league teams for Castro, who also could be traded back to Chicago. "We're realistic in the type of player that we are talking about," Levine said. "We're looking at a [player] that can help a major league team and we're looking to get a similar type piece back -- whether that is going to help us today or someone who can help us down the road. We're looking for someone with upside potential comparable to what Fabio Castro has." Levine said Castro simply got caught in a numbers game. Found this today in MLB Rumors. Steve9347
well, he's obviously not that incredible a talent, or he wouldnt bounce everywhere. however, i wouldnt mind getting a young arm back, regardless.
Chisoxfn
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 11:49 AM) well, he's obviously not that incredible a talent, or he wouldnt bounce everywhere. however, i wouldnt mind getting a young arm back, regardless. He's very talented, the problem is he isn't ready to pitch at the major league level (nor should be considering he was coming from A ball). Thats why he wouldn't really stick on a team like the Rangers that finds themselves in the thick of the race. However, a team like the Royals or some other s*** team would be stupid not to take a chance on an arm like his and just live with the losses (its not like there other guys are any better). GoodAsGould
Yeah all I read about Castro was that he is very very talented. If he had the stamina he could be a top of the rotation starter w/ his stuff. That being said he was only in high A last season so for a team in contention for the playoffs(the rangers) it would be like us still having boone logan up.
