Frankensteiner
QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 12:29 AM) Its who drafted him originally. Not only that, he grew up a huge Tigers fan.
heirdog
QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 11:35 AM) Actually, the Cubs have some good young talent besides Z and Lee...Cedeno at short, Murton in OF and even that hosebag Barrett should all be kept. Dump Walker, Ramirez, wait out the Jones contract, unless someone REALLY wants him, ride out Pierre and you've got a lineup... the pitching staff, though? Shambles. Cut bait and move on. What is this, Cubstalk.com? They are in a world of hurt because they have terrible ownership, a terrible GM, a terrible coach, a bunch of over-paid FAs, a thin farm system and an overrated injury-prone pitching staff. I wouldn't know where to start with that team...I guess Zambrano and Lee are the stars to build around and maybe Ramirez (since it took them 35 years to find another 3B after Santo). zygoat
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 05:49 PM) What do you guys think of the Braves? They're currently in last place. Should they pack it in and re-tool? No, they have won the NL east for like the last 16 years, and packing it up would be a terrible way to end that incredible streak. They have to play for dignity and go done swinging
GoSox05
we couldve gotten Jason Johnson from the Indians for practically nothing. We really blew that. Yeah everyone says well he's like 1-7 in his last 8 starts. so. so.

Wedge
We don't need a big piece to our puzzle... we just need another arm for the bullpen at this point. Hell, if Politte can post a reasonable ERA for the remainder of the season, we'll be alright. Even if we need another arm, we don't have to worry about finding some desperate team looking to unload an elite bullpen arm. Another deal like the Riske one will do just fine.
