southsider2k5
QUOTE(bmags @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 07:23 PM) northern beer is the worst. Are you referring to a brand name, or just beers from the north? I gotta say I LOVE Canadian beers, so I would have a bone to pick with ya. On our Canadian honeymoon in 2000, I definately fell in love with a couple of beers up there, but the big one was Labatts 50-50's
LosMediasBlancas
QUOTE(Drew @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 09:21 PM) I think that the word 'Light' after most of these beers is redundant, because they're all already like sex in a canoe--f***in' close to water. I don't like counteracting trends, I just drink what I like and I like both PBR and High Life. PBR and High Life are just about equal in the trend factor, PBR a little more just because people enjoy the novelty of drinking out of a can. I prefer High Life to PBR, it's what's in my fridge right now. but the Champagne of Beers is only closely trailing in prevalence in the indie dive joints of Silver Lake, Los Feliz, and Echo Park. I also like Tecate, and the dive near my old workplace had it for $7 a pitcher. I can't really get drunk on beer, mainly because I simply have no interest in consuming that much liquid in a night. If you want to rock a lowbrow old-school cocktail, might I suggest a 7 and 7. WOW, someone else enjoys Tecate, or as I call it, The Red. Very underrated Mexican beer, I love the hell out of it, but something about it makes me sleepy, not drunk, but sleepy, it's very wierd. I'll never understand the attraction to that beer. For me, my favorite Mexican beer is Dos Equis followed by Tecate.

CanOfCorn
You know, the more I think about it, and the more I read all of your responses, I have to say that each beer has it's place. Now, I wouldn't go out and buy some of those beers, but I also wouldn't turn them away if offered. I would go to Sheffields and drink Hubers and Schlitz and Pabst and Natty Light when it was the "Bad Beer of the Month." In college, the "red" beers were in style, Red Wolf, Red Dog, Killians Red and I drank them. Then, it was Ice beers, and I drank them. Then, it was Zima, and yes, I even drank that. If you are Fla-Jim or Chaos, both beer connosieurs, then there are measures and scales and compounds and things like that...but for little ol' me, give me Falstaff, Hamm's, Pearl, Lone Star, PBR and the Beast! LosMediasBlancas
So I get to my parents on the 4th for a cookout, throw one cooler open, nothing but High Life, throw the second cooler open, more High Life. High Life is not bad, it's exactly in between Miller Lite and MGD.
