Molto
for those of you who would prefer to have one set DH and that DH not being Frank Thomas, what about Martinez? it doesn't look like he is going to resign with the Mariners, thus making him a free agent. could be a great pickup. he's been one of the best hitters of all time and could help out the other guys on the team. I for one think it would be cool to have Martinez and Ordonez batting back-to-back, there are so similar in styles. of course I would prefer us to have no DH and just rotate the other guys, but if we were to get a permanent DH outside of Thomas, I would definetly pay 4-5 mil a year for him. doubleM23
He's an interesting pickup, but I think if I was given the choice of Thome or Martinez to replace the Hurt, I'd have to go with Thome. He hits for more power without giving up that much in average, and COULD play the field if need be. That, and it would just be a way to stick it to Cleveland. And we all know that they suck. Molto
Thome is another story. the guy is a great hitter whose left handed bat would do wonders in the lineup. but you are then talking about 10 or so million a year, a bit too much considering we'll only have 10 mil to spend at the most. Chisoxfn
Mario, I was reading the paper today when I saw that and I thought the exact same thing. He'd be a pretty sweet pickup at say 2 mill a year and then some incentives. He's a hitting machine when healthy and gets a great obp and is a leader. He's probably won't be as good as a heatlhy Frank, but he's still solid.

Chisoxfn
Plus Edgar is way better of a hitter later in his career then Harold was.
