Punch and Judy Garland
Lewis is brutal, he reminds me of Niles from Murphy Brown. THis one doesn't feel like a winner today. Not pitching worth a s*** and not hitting either
G&T
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) Actually the Astros are beating our ass. We are not beating ourselves. No, they are taking advantage of the Sox mistakes. I've seen poor defense and bad pitching and the Stros taking advantage. santo=dorf
QUOTE(T R U @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 01:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There have been 4 plays on defense now that SHOULD be made that werent that either kept the inning alive or allowed runners to advance to 3rd.. Garland has not thrown great but you cant tack this all on him, if those plays are made this game is nothing like it is now.. and they were plays that should be made, especially by Crede and Mack is just an embarassment out there in CF :rolly Let's put none of the blame on Garland for giving up those rocket line drives to Crede. Who was the defensive specialist that decided to try and turn a long double play on Wily Taveras and give up another run?
BigSqwert
QUOTE(G&T @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 01:51 PM) No, they are taking advantage of the Sox mistakes. I've seen poor defense and ad pitching and the Stros taking advantage. Well you just sound like a homer. Give credit where credit is due. They have 5 runs on 8 hits and we have 1 run on 2 hits. They are beating our ass.
Punch and Judy Garland
that was a brain cramp on the double play and Dye was wrong to throw home in the 4th (it didn't cost us but it allowed the runner to go to second. There is a chance it was the cutoff man's fault but the ball couldn't go home on that play as it wasn't really close
Greg Hibbard
if we're "beating ourselves" with poor pitching, then we didn't beat the cardinals either of the first two games, they "beat themselves" :rolly

Capn12
Garland sporting a 2.60 WHIP for this games effort...not so crazy go nuts awesome there.... I guess we were due a semi-s***ty game, but for the love of all that is holy, let the BA suspension hurry up and get over!!! Just say no to the Mack CF fill in experiment. southsideirish71
What is Brandon McCarthy's role on this team. He doesnt pitch in close games, he doesnt pitch in games like this because we keep throwing Garland out there to give up more runs. This pitcher-catcher combo is having problems coming up with a plan. We have Morgan Ensberg who cant hit an outside pitch, and we are going in on 0-2. Some of this is pitch calling, some of this is Garland throwing a sinker that starts at the knees and goes into the dirt for pitch one and pitch 2. Now we have hitters who are 3-1 and we need baserunners and they are chasing pitches at the neck. We have a problem winning that 9th game. G&T
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 01:53 PM) Well you just sound like a homer. Give credit where credit is due. They have 5 runs on 8 hits and we have 1 run on 2 hits. They are beating our ass. I've seen nothing hit hard, and I've seen Crede miss plays that he normally makes, even if they are difficult for most 3rd basemen. Meanwhile, the Astros are doing all the right things to get guys around. Meanwhile the offense looks terrible. For that I give credit to the pitcher. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 01:53 PM) if we're "beating ourselves" with poor pitching, then we didn't beat the cardinals either of the first two games, they "beat themselves" :rolly Garland has gone deep into counts and has been unable to put guys away. The Cardinals couldn't get deep into counts because the Sox hit everything hard. Garland has walked 5 and the Cardinals hardly walked anyone.
