G&T
Ranger talking to Thornton Feels he continues to get better. Cooper told him to make his stride as long as he can. That's been the major change and has been the most important thing for is career. Relies on his catchers in big situations because he can't always tell what's been working all game against good hitters. Stay around the plate and attack the hitters. After Jose Molina hit a homer off of him, he started to throw the fastball up and making the curve go into the dirt to make sure guys swing over it. The pen is starting to come together after a tough streak, but things are starting to get better.

BigSqwert
Don Cooper on the Score now. Calling in after having 9 drinks. That's according to him and apparantly he's calling from his car. WTF!?!? Chris Rongey was speechless after Dr Cooper tells him he just had 9 drinks. Edited June 24, 2006 by BigSqwert
chitownsportsfan
Thornton is another steal by KW. Although Borchard is having a decent season as a 4th outfielder and would have been much better than keeping Gload around, this was a trade that worked out very, very well. I give most of the credit to Cooper though. Obviously he told KW he saw some mechanical issues that he could work with Thornton on, and Cooper was absolutely right--at least so far. This one is credited to Cooper. He's been trying to get the Sox to acquire Thornton for 2 years.

Um, that post was made at 5 O'clock, 9 drinks over 2 hours followed by some driving while on your cell phone is pretty damn bad.
