Kalapse
That was a very enjoyable inning to watch. Guillen makes a great play defensively which saves them a run on the John Buck shot up the middle. Only to have Zumaya give up a bases clearing double to Jesus tying the game. Guillen also adds a meaningless error on top of it. Seriously though, Jesus might just be the the only player worth a damn on this pathetic excuse of a team. He'll be the next Byrd/Damon/Dye/Beltran, another All-Star leaving KC in a trade that nets them absolutely nothing.

ViperPilot
Thier bullpen seems to be cooling down a bit. Our rookie who throws over 100 mph has one bad inning and they're cooling down? I don't think so....this kid could just as easily strike out the side next time out....just a bad inning....... tigerfan
I concur with that. Keep in mind this is a young pen too, they will have their ups and downs this year.
loltrain
Well it was certainly a rough game, but when you're 10-0 against a team on the season their are sure to be some scares. Zumaya didn't have his control tonight and walked a couple of guys before giving up a hit to one of the Royals only good hitters, I wouldn't call that cooling down too much. Rodney sucked for awhile, but that was also a mechanical/control problem. Walker, Ledezma, Rodney, Zumaya and heck even Colon, Grilli and Jones is a solid bullpen. (Ok, maybe not Jones)

Jones' last 10 games...... 1-0, 7 saves, 0.90 ERA (only run was a HR to Pujols) We'll see how happy you are next week....I think you need to worry about getting swept in NY before you start talking about Detroit.... Since when do we need to worry about getting swept after one loss. OH NO, WE LOST A GAME. We lost without our starting 3rd baseman who could have prevented one of those runs. I'm not about to forfiet this series, and I really doubt they are either. And like I said before, the Tigers are going to need to beat the Sox head to head to prove this division is theirs. We had to do it with Minnesota and Cleveland last year.

I didn't say anything about forfieting any series....my point is that Jones is pitching much better since getting healthy........and you have to admit that the best chance for you to win a game in this series was tonight.....besides the big guy, your starting pitching hasn't been nearly as good as it was last year... As far as proving ourselves by beating you, I'd have it no other way....to be a champion, you have to beat the champion......should be a fun summer..... Heads22
Jesus, how many Tiger fans are here? Just a friendly reminder from your neighborhood admin. You're more than welcome to post here....it's great to have opposing fans. Just remember that you're having a party in our house, and if any of you gets a little too snooty, we reserve the right to keep the beer you brought over while kicking you out and stealing your girlfriend. Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 09:41 PM) There comes a point where you realize a team has "it". It was obvious early on last season that the White Sox had "it". I'm ready to proclaim that the Tigers have "it" this season. Well said. The Tigers just find a way to get it done. I'm very impressed by them.

The only question now is how they're going to be able to handle adversity when some really hits. The Sox did a dynamite job of it last year, and pulled out of it before it was too late. The Tigers aren't going to win 115 this year, their pitching isn't going to be the best in recorded history, so some things are going to go wrong at some point. loltrain
I think any Tiger fan would just be happy to make the playoffs for once, regardless of how many games we win. I would guess the players feel the same way, we've had a couple of 4 game losing streaks and tough strethces and bounced back, hopefully that continues. I'll admit we need to start beating you guys occasionally But it is a tough matchup for us since we rely so much on pitching and you guys have a very dangerous lineup. If we are able to go .500 against Chicago the rest of the year I'm sure we'd be happy.
