Iguana
I am going to settle this RIGHT NOW!!!! FRANK RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
JTC2784
One could say, "good morning" to a sportswriter, and he could make it look as if you were whining if he wanted. Hehe... that just reminds me of Dave Chapelle in Undercover Brother, the dumbest of all dumb (and funny as s***) movies in recent memory
Texsox
Yes, absolutely. Frank is not a public speaker. I have said many times publically and to him that his next public statement should be at his HOF induction cermony. The first time I said that was right after the ARod fiasco, and Reinsorf ageed, as did Frank. His silence at the end of last season didn't work out well either. Unfortunately we have a mold for our stars and Frank isn't always fitting that mold. So much of human communications is people's perceptions of you. If I think you are a whiner, whatever you say will be processed through that filter. If you are shrugging your shoulders, turning away, etc. that will determine what I think. If I have to ask a question three times instead of once before it's answered that will influence the way I process your answer. From what I have seen and heard Frank is the kind of person who's friends will comment "I'm certain that is not what he meant or you have to know him to understand what he was really saying." That is dangerous for someone in the public eye. Reports aren't claravoyant (spelling?) and I think they don't "get" Frank.
Soxfest
It is amazing how themedia has brainwashed so many fans into making Frank look like a whiner Frank has EARNED the right to speak his mind....unlike the moron Paul Konerko who talked a lot last year and now one cannot even hear a peep from him when his sorry ass cannot hit more than once every 32 at bats The freaking idiots who called paul a leader are no where to be heard from either. Frank Thomas has EVERY RIGHT to not come to the bench if he in unfairly benched like he was last year Talking about blind to reality. Frank has been an whiner and an individual caring only about himself for years. He's a cancer in the clubhouse (although for the most part has seemed better this year) and always has been. No one will speak up about Frank because of how well he has hit, but the media did not create Frank's image. He has no one to blame for that but himself. If you can't see the ego and individualism in Frank, you are blind to anything outside of the world of silver and black. Why is it if ANYONE disagrees with you it is because they are blind to the silver and black, this place is for ALL opinions, whether they agree with you or not. Has nothing to do with disagreeing with me. But everything to do with objectivity. There are those fans that think Frank is next to perfect and have what I call a blind affection for him. Nothing he can do is wrong. I simply disagree and think that most others do as well. I have heard the same things from too many sources for too many years for every one of them to be completely off base. If you want to back Frank, fine. But if you think everything is the media's fault and none of it is his, then you cannot claim objectivity. Maybe I am too far to one extreme with him. And maybe reality settles in between my views and some of those who disagree with me. I am more than willing to give credit where credit is due, as I believe I have. I have said all I want to say on this because some of you will agree me on this and other will not regardless of what he does and says. Like I said, we can agree to disagree. I can certainly live with that.

BrandoFan
Anyone who has ever heard Frankie speak leaves with at least two indelible impressions: 1. He is extremely charming and articulate when not talking about himself. 2. 90% of his rhetoric does center around "I am the greatest...I want my dues and I want them NOW, whaawwwww!!!!!" which Satan's helpers (aka "media") tend to misconstrue as egomaniacal, thin-skinned whining. Silly them. Having said that, I'd take Frank's self-conscious rants over Sammy's brand of megalomania coated in shameless self-promotion and insincerity ANY.DAY.OF.THE.WEEK. How anyone can dislike Frank is a mystery to me. On the field, he's probably the most impressive offensive force in White Sox history. Off the field, you never hear anything bad about him. He's not out doing dope, beating his wife, having children out of wedlock, etc, etc. Unfortunately, all of what we've read about Frank in his personal life has been tragedy, and I think that -- along with several injuries -- have hindered him in the past 4-5 years. It's unfortunate, but IMO he's a HOF'er and unless someone knows something about him that I don't, we all need to support THE MAN.

(well at least the pierced, tattooed, smoking types lol).....no off the field i havent heard anything bad about him unless you dont like guys who hang out in strip clubs..(something im sure is up your alley right... ) which frank is known to do alot.....he is a good father to his kids.. more than enough supports that ex bimbo of his (why she would hang with the likes of clayton is still beyond my comprehension, but to each their own i guess).......he is a good guy and has my support as a member of this team just as i support the rest of the guys....i would like to see him hit the hof, his accomplishments with the team more than enough warrant it.......but not everyone likes him and i can respect that......
