southsider2k5
Series Preview: White Sox @ Pirates By Justin Udany As the last week of interleague play comes along, the White Sox will try to continue their National League dominance as they visit PNC Park for a three-game series against the struggling Pirates. Putting the Ozzie Guillen circus behind them, the Sox continue to play fantastic baseball. The Sox went 5 and 1 on the concluded homestand, including a 20-run beatdown against St. Louis pitching on Tuesday night. With the Sox facing lefties on Wednesday and Thursday, expect to see Jim Thome at first base against Ian Snell on Tuesday. MORE..
Felix
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 11:22 AM) Prediction: The White Sox will sweep the Pirates. I really hope so, I'm going to all 3 of these, my first 3 of the year Unfortunetly, the weather isn't looking too good, and rain for the first 2 games is looking probable. Hopefully, the games will get in, but I'm thinking there's one rainout.

Baines3
Let's go beat up on the Pirates. We need to hope that the Astros will do us a favor by beating Detroit for us this week.

daa84
i know its the pirates who have lost 11 in a row, but its possible snell maholm and oliver perez could sneak up on us a bit i think, kinda like those series when we lose 2 outa 3 to KC...that said i still think we take the series easy, especially with buerhle garcia and contreras going Edited June 27, 2006 by daa84
TheBlackSox8
QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) Let's go beat up on the Pirates. We need to hope that the Astros will do us a favor by beating Detroit for us this week. cardinals are the only "elite" team the tigers have won a series against IRC. And the cardinals were a little "beat up" to begin the series.
VAfan
Anything less than a sweep of the 6 games against the Pirates and Cubs and we'll be losing ground. I hate this kind of stretch. What would be really nice is if the starters step up and take control of each of these games. We could use a stretch where we give up 3 or fewer runs/game. Balta1701
Hello from the middle of the city of Kuqi, in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China (Zhong Guo). Finally we got to 9 in a row! A feat not achieved even by the great 2005 Chicago White Sox! DESTROY THE PIRATES!
aboz56
FYI Zach Duke will pitch Thursday in place of Oliver Perez who the Pirates moved to the bullpen. Duke will move up a day and pitch on normal rest.
Chisoxfn
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) FYI Zach Duke will pitch Thursday in place of Oliver Perez who the Pirates moved to the bullpen. Duke will move up a day and pitch on normal rest. In terms of scheduling for Saturday's game against the Tigers (Pirates vs. Tigers) they have yet to announce there starter, but we will be seeing two of there best (in Snell tonight who we knocked around but only got 3 against and Duke on Thursday when he goes up against Count and his 16 game win streak).
