Steve9347 Posted June 28, 2006 Share Posted June 28, 2006 ^^^^^^^ never go with the obvious answer when you can bring up comments such as "sox nation is lazy" my iguchi Japan comment was based on the fact that Japanese see ichiro and vote, regardless if he were hitting .200 or .400, much like joe idiot who goes to a major league baseball game and see yankees or red sox next to a player and votes for said player regardless of whether he's heard of him or not. im just surprised that doesn't carry over. The Yankee-Red Sox rivalry is much greater in scope than any rivalry you'll find in the NL. Plus, they're the two biggest fanbases trying to outdo each other. In reference to previous posts, I think Iguchi has a large Japanese-American fanbase. In Cincinnati, there was an Asian family in front of me in Red's gear that would wave a Japanese flag every time Iguchi came to bat.
