As you obviously know, our division has been on fire of late. On June 11, here were the standings..

Detroit --

Chicago .5

Twins 11.5

Since then, here's the teams' records..

Detroit 15-2

Chicago 13-3

Twins 15-1

And now the standings..

Detroit --

Chicago 2

Twins 11

43-6 is the combined record of the 3 teams. That is amazing. I can't imagine how big of a story this would be on ESPN if it was the Yanks, Sawx, and Jays in a race like this. It's going to be a fun summer, hopefully we have competition like this all year. Oh yeah, and we are 6.5 games up on the Wild Card....IN JUNE!

What's the Jays, Sawk, and yanks combined record against the NL

Sawks: 13 - 1

Jays: 6-8

Yanks: 8-7

Looking at all three divisions:

West: 30-27 .526

East: 45-27 .625

Central: 52-21 .712 :o

In their last 20 games the Sox and Twins are 17-3, while Detroit is 16-4. We talked before about who would be getting more stressed about the other team being hot between the Sox and Tigers, but how must it feel to be the Minnesota Twins today. They have gone 17-3 in their last 20 games and gained exactly zero games in their push for the playoffs.

I have a co-worker that is a big Twins fan, and he is getting pretty frustrated that his "red-hot" Twins have not been able to gain any ground. He keeps saying "would you guys lose one already?"

It won't be long before the Twins pass the Yanks for the 4th best record in the AL, yet it's not going to get them to the dance unless the Tigers swoon. I would probably vote the Twins the team I'd least like to face in a 5-game playoff set because Santana/Liriano is a brutal combo.

Your numbers are wrong. Tigers 17-3, Sox 15-5, Twins 17-3. The Sox, despite a 9 game winning streak, have lost two games in the standings to both Detroit and Minnesota. Kinda disheartening isnt it?

Nope, it's actually pretty encouraging. The Tigers and Twins won't get better pitching over a 20 game span than they did during this stretch. Our starting pitching has been struggling, and we only managed to lose 2 games while the Tigers/Twins were on fire.

Yeah, but Detroit is an ugly, ghetto town, the Twins have a dome and Sox fans are white trash who run on the field and attack umps, so there's pretty much nothing worth paying attention to in our division.
