Brian
Got lucky with Uribe. Making one of our hottest hitters bunt was questionable. But with Anderson, the tying run is already in scoring position. Let the kid get one in the jet stream, possibly.
Greg Hibbard
QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 01:58 PM) This is the s*** that is going to keep us from taking the next step this year. what step is the next step after winning a world series?
Jordan4life_2007
You would think a guy hitting .175 could atleast get a bunt down.
winninguglyin83
We're saving mackowiak for the 10th inning. the Cubs won't be there. but we'll have a simulated game. we'll let Vazquez pitch to Anderson, too. That way SOMEBODY has to get something done. Brian Anderson is the singular most worthless white Sox player I have seen in decades. period. southsideirish71
A lot of dumb bunting with people who have a hard time bunting. I know its a national league park, but why do we have to f***ing have guys who cant bunt, bunt. Wind is howling out, let some people lift the ball and lets see what happens. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 02:59 PM) You would think a guy hitting .175 could atleast get a bunt down. He missed the part of bunting practice when you are supposed to bunt at a strike, and not the high inside pitch the pitcher wants you to bunt at. VAfan
That's 0-3 in attempted bunts in the last couple of innings. Iguchi, Uribe, Anderson. Ozzie should have pinch hit the last two times. Where is Mack or Cintron against Howry?
Brian
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) f***in' pathetic. We're looking at being 4 1/2 games behind Detroit by the time this weekend is over. Why are you so intimidated by Zambrano? We've hit him around before. Buehrle has been tough at NL parks. valponick
QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) what step is the next step after winning a world series? It's a different year, different team. This is the exact type of attitude that keeps teams from winning back to back.
Greg The Bull Luzinski
No matter how good Anderson's defense is, it is tough to carry a .170 hitter that can't even bunt.
Milkman delivers
Sometimes you just gotta wonder why Ozzie does these things. You knew BA would screw up the bunt. And the chances for PK grounding into a DP were high.
The Critic
QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) Let the kid get one in the jet stream, possibly. No. Let the kid help the team. When you're hitting .177, you BETTER be able to drop a bunt. The double play is no longer in play for your slowest runner and a fly ball ties the game. Every manager in the major leagues bunts in that situation, especially in front of PK. Our team can't bunt. Ozzie has to realize that. There are about 2 guys I'd trust in that situation, and BA ain't one of 'em. I guarantee a lot of us saw him screwing that up.
