2B- Ronnie Belliard, Indians Paul Konerko ***.315 19 hr 61 rbis can't be left off an all-star team, no bias here. let a shortstop play 2nd base with gooch and lopez***

3B- Joe Crede, White Sox

3B- Melvin Mora, Orioles Hank Blalock (Chavez could also be here, but a poor BA won't help. If Chavez makes it, then Zito would get the boot to make room for Kazmir)

SS- Miguel Tejada, Orioles

SS- Michael Young , Rangers

OF- Carl Crawford, Tampa Bay

OF- Vernon Wells, Blue Jays

**add** OF- Alex Rios, Blue Jays (might replace Vernon who left last night's game with an injury)

OF- Jermaine Dye, White Sox

C- Joe Mauer, Min. Twins

C- AJ Pierzynski, Chicago White Sox

SP- Kenny Rogers, Tigers

SP- Justin Verlander, Tigers

SP- Roy Halladay, Blue Jays

SP- Barry Zito, A's

SP- Jeremy Bonderman, Tigers Jose Contreras

SP- Ervin Santana, ANgels Johan Santana

SP- Mark Redman, Royals Mark Buehrle

RP- Jonathan Papelbon, Red Spx

RP- B.J. Ryan, Blue Jays

RP- Bobby Jenks, White Sox

*** Kazmir should be the representative from Tampa, I don't know who should get the boot. Buehrle or Zito would be the guys I would get rid of ***

*** If these three guys aren't the 3 relief pitchers, there are going to be some problems. Clearly the three best closers in the AL ***

Team Breakdown:

Red Sox: 4

Yankees: 3

Blue Jays: 4

Orioles: 1

Devil Rays: 2

Tigers: 2

White Sox: 7 They are actually all deserving, Gooch and AJ are lucky that their postions are weak this year.

Twins: 2

Indians: 0 Ok maybe Belliard should be there.

Royals: 0 The rule sucks anyways, right?

A's: 1

Rangers: 2

Mariners: 2

Angels: 1

Alex Rios is in the hospital, might not be back till Aug.

Hafner IS going, so I dont know where you get your 0 count for the Indians, and nice logic for the Royals....... :rolly

Didn't know that about Rios.

I just forgot about Hafner, which makes my point that Ronnie shouldn't be there more strong.

Who do you think is a deserving All-Star from the Royals? :rolly

Liriano and Morneau are getting stiffed huh?

The American League is stacked this year. If Ozzie wasn't the manager I think Dye, Crede, AJ, ect would be snubbed. That being said, I don't think the Sox will get 7 guys in obviously, but you never know with Oz.

Looking at the stats for those two, they definitely deserve to go. Thanks to ESPN I had no idea that they were having THAT good of a year. Liriano's ERA is sick, I didn't know it was that good.

I can live with dumping Ervin Santana and Kenny Rogers for those guys.

Not exactly sure why you had Ervin there in the first place. He's having a good year but no where near all star calibur.

EDIT: Also like to add that you're going to have a first baseman or two always snubbed in the all star game. There are always just way too many good ones.

AJ no matter his BA, should be passed over for the AS game.

There are too many quality catchers this year in the AL.

Gooch, Dye, Kong, Thome, Contreras, Buehrle and Jenks are the possible all stars.

Buehrle and Gooch are about the only semi-questionable ones of those 7 if you had to only pick 5.

AJ has no chance. Varitek is going to get voted in and Mauer and Ramon Hernandez deserve to go big time.

I agree, AJ isn't all that deserving. He handles our staff so well though and that's all I'm used to seeing. Posada might actually be more deserving numbers wise, but there's no way Oz will add another Yankee to the team. We're probably going to end up with Gooch only if Cano stays hurt, Thome, Konerko (maybe), Contreras, Buehrle (maybe), Crede should be there, same with Jenks, and Dye deserves it too. Hopefully with Oz we can get five out of these guys.

The "ozzie will bring a bunch of white sox" thing is posted on basically every message board for every team, and it just doesn't make sense.

Last year Francona got to select a grand total of ONE player, that's right one.

How is Ozzie going to bring 3 or 4 whitesox if he only gets one or two selections? Besides, there is no way (I hope) that a guy like Dye or Thome will not be on the team.

If any teams are going to have guys ridiculously snubbed it will be the Tigers, Twins, and every AL East team that's not the Red Sox/Yankees. I think you guys are pretty safe.
