I can't believe Zambrano has a sub 3 ERA as tempermental as he is. That's pretty crazy that he is top 6 in ERA in the NL.

As of now his ERA is 3.02 :P

You can be a loon and maintain a sub 3 era when you've got stuff like his. It doesn't hurt that he's in the pathetic NL, either.

Buehrle isn't tipping his pitches. He's been throwing first pitch fastballs right down the middle (particularly in the 1st inn.) and the Cubs hitters were jumping on them. When a hitter guesses fastball against Buehrle and guesses right, it isn't too hard for him to hit it hard. That's usually what happens when Buehrle gets lit up. That's just the kind of pitcher he is.

it sounds ridiculous because we are winning, but still, the starting pitching has just not been impressive. we certainly dont have a santana, liriano 1,2 punch. liriano may never lose a game again.

He's already got 6 k's through 3 innings today. They're up 4-0.

Make that 6-0. Looks like I might've been wrong about the Twins. I'm hoping their recent hot-streak is due to interleague play. They looked like s*** before they started feasting on the crappy NL.

Our starters have been so disappointing. Remember how it was supposed to be the best 5-man rotation in baseball history or some s*** like that? Every other aspect of our team has been good to great for most of the year. The rotation has been just s***. A bunch of over-paid, over-hyped pitchers.

guys, if we can get this back to a three run deficit, we are in their heads enough to make this an easy comeback.

I was thinking the same thing. We just need Buehrle to hold em there, and chip away a couple runs of Zambozo, and get to there pen

for some reason even though were down by 5, it doesn't look that bad to me

man are we spoiled

Maybe it's because Zambrano has the ability to just fly off the handle and start hanging pitches at the drop of hat. Especially against the Sox.

And minus Politte it's been the bullpen that's actually been the strong point of the pitching staff, which was something that was a big question mark at the beginning of the season.

He is awesome, and I'm not trying to sell him short at all, but one reason that he hasn't lost much is because he hasn't pitched to one team in the AL central or AL East yet. In other words, he's pitched against a bunch of really awful offenses. The Twins haven't played anybody good in awhile in general. Just an FYI.

Here's how our supposedly dominant starting pitching has done against 3 of the worst hitting offenses in the league.

6.1 IP, 8 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 4 K

5 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 5 BB, 2 K

6 IP, 10 H, 9 ER, 2 BB, 3 K

7 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K

6 IP, 10 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 K

5.1 IP, 12 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, 4 K

6 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K

6 IP, 11 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 7 K

3 IP, 8 H, 7 ER, 0 BB, 8 K (will be updated accordingly)

That's pretty damn pathetic. If I'm KW, I sure as hell wouldn't have any loyalty to Vazquez. If Smoltz or Willis are really available in trade, then we should get them.
