Scratch Scott Williamson from the list

Recommended Posts

Here is a name that is mentioned by some posters on this site.

On hit and run with Jessie and George Offerman they had Scott Williamson on for an interview. They asked him if he would like playing for a coach like Ozzie. Then Scott said right off the bat, no I dont want to play for him. It was based on the Sean Tracey incident, and how Dusty is a great guy because he is laid back. He expects that he will be traded though to somewhere. But the minute Ozzie and Kenny get wind of this interview, that will put a block on him ever coming to the whitesox.

I shudder to think of what Ozzie's response is. I think it will sound like this. Scott who, he is a piece of s***. He can play on the cubs for ever. We dont take AAA pitchers on our team.

What is he supposed to say??

If he were traded to the sox he woule embrace instantly.

There is a difference in saying I am happy where I am at, and in saying no I dont want to play for this particular manager. Trade speculation happens at this point in the season. He said he didnt want to play for Ozzie, specifically because he handled the Sean Tracey situation the way he did.

I hope Ozzie does not respond at all. Who cares about this guy?

Jessie and George were almost happy with glee that this happened, the next comment after this interview was "I cant wait to here how Ozzie reacts"

So even though Sean Tracey says HE wants to play for Ozzie after that, this guy doesn't?

Cool. Let him go find a World Series ring somewhere else.

Hard to imagine that Williamson is the only one pitcher who feels this way. Actions have consequences.

I'll take those consequences any day. Tracey knows what's up, so if there are guys like Williamson out there that don't have an interest to play for Ozzie or the Sox in general, better it is upfront, because we don't need them. The best talent is good to have, but I'll take ball players that want to be here, and know how to win.

Williamson's arm is about to fall off. I remember how limp his arm was when he re-injured his elbow and the cubs called it "tendinitis". What a joke. They're putting him out there hoping to nload him onto some team. good riddance to bad garbage

Seems like Williamson isn't making many friends at the moment. From 2 seperate Trib pieces...

Cubs reliever Scott Williamson backed off comments he made on WSCR-AM 670 Sunday morning, saying he has no problem with the way Dusty Baker uses him and denying he wanted to be traded. In the radio interview, Williamson said: "If you're not one of (Baker's) boys and he doesn't have much confidence in you, then you wear it." He also said that "hopefully I do get traded and go to a playoff-contending team." Williamson later accused the station of trying to "stir up some stuff." "They tried to get me to say something about Dusty, and I refused. I refused to say it's his fault." As for being traded, Williamson said he told the station he thought he "probably" would be dealt.

The Cubs reliever denied saying some things he said on WSCR-AM 670, even though tapes of the show have not been erased. "This place is very similar to Boston—the media," he said, insulting both towns. Chicago also is very similar to Boston in that fans don't respect athletes who speak their mind and then go into denial mode, especially when those athletes have a 4.56 ERA.

LMAO. This is the same guy who unloaded on his team and then lied about it even though the tapes still exsisted of his statements. No Williamson doesn't seem like he thinks much of accountability, so I don't see him working for a manager that actually holds his players accountable for their actions. Yeah, he is one of Dusty's guys.
