Texsox
It's going to take more than a couple wins and seeing Rowand to get me excited. Fool me once . . .
witesoxfan
TRADE FOR KENNY LOFTON TRADE FOR KENNY LOFTON TRADE FOR KENNY LOFTON TRADE FOR KENNY LOFTON TRADE FOR KENNY LOFTON TRADE FOR KENNY LOFTON If they give us Brian Giles too....sure, why the hell not? I for one do not want to trade for that s***bag Lofton and give up a lot of talent in the process, because Pittsburgh will look for a lot if they do in fact deal Lofton. Small salary, good numbers, last year of contract...they're not going to deal him for a bag of balls. They'd probably ask for Rauch and then some for Lofton. I am not trading Rauch, who could be a pretty good starter some day, for Lofton, who would be a rent-a-player. And to answer my question from above....no, we are not going to get Brian Giles. Rauch for Lofton? Lol. Who do they think they are, Billy Beane Apparently so. Thing is....some teams would be desperate enough for a "good" CFer that they'd actually make that move. I could definately see the Phillies, if they were desperate enough and thought that Lofton would push them over the top, could trade Marlon Byrd and a decent pitching prospect for Lofton. If we only had to give up like Ginter and Wunsch or something like that....then I'd do it. Low risk....at the very most, we are losing two good bullpen guys. It is easy as hell to find guys to replace them, especially in our system...we have a lot of good relievers. We aren't getting Lofton for Ginter and Wunsch. ChiSox10
The Chicago White Sox have recalled outfielder Aaron Rowand to Chicago. Rowand, a 25 year old from Las Vegas, NV, hit .242 in 32 games played for the Knights, connecting for three home runs and knocking in 13. Rowand started the season in Chicago, where he hit .133 in 60 at bats for the White Sox. To replace Rowand on the roster, outfielder Joe Borchard was sent to Charlotte. Borchard hit .184 with 1 HR and 5 RBI in 49 at bats with the White Sox after being called up from Charlotte on May 23rd. While with the Knights, Borchard hit .224 with 3 HR and 20 RBI. The Knights have also announced that infielder/outfielder Willie Harris will be joining the team on a major league rehab assignment. The left-handed hitter led the International League in average and ranked among the league leaders in on-base percentage (2nd, .483), runs scored (T2nd, 20), hits (3rd), slugging percentage (4th, .691), home runs (T4th) and extra-base hits (T5th, 11) at the time of his promotion. that was on the knights website. whitesox247
Thanks for the confirmation Chisox10 and Welcome Aboard I'm glad the Sox made this move. As I've said before, Borchard is not ready (as much as we all wish he was), and Rowand is our best option for the time being. Of course we aren't looking for much production out of the CF/8-spot. All we need is a guy with solid defense who can move runners and get a basehit here and there. Rowand is our best guy for that.
