Didn't know this was public yet....I thought he was still a big name, no?

I think he would play for Fulham for one more season, before he starts his retirement. Going from the Premiership to the MLS is like going from the Sox to Birmingham.

He is. It's just that I doubt the public even realizes that he plays in Europe right now.

I wouldnt call him a big name as far as on the world stage goes, but he is a recognizeable name there at least. And, as far as the MLS is considered he will be a big name in that league too.

So watched the CL Final?

I only saw the penalty shootout, and it was basically the perfect one for me.

Ronaldo missing with his stupid stutter step run - up, John Terry missing to win the game, and then Chelsea not winning.

I root for Liverpool so i didnt care too much who won. I was pleased to see an entertaining game. Drogba's slap in ET was beyond dumb. I felt bad for John Terry, wish it was someone else who missed that. And they gotta do something about Ronaldo's PKs, that has to be (or should be) illegal.

The announcers were speculating that it would have been a rekick, had it gone in. Who knows, though.

Thought I'd bump this back up. Borussia Dortmund center back Neven Subotic decided to play internationally for Serbia recently, picking them over the USA, Bosnia/Hercegovina, and Germany. This potentially gives Serbia the most talented group of young defenders in the world with Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea), Nemenja Vidic (Man Utd), Neven Subotic (Dortmund), and Aleksandar Kolarov (Lazio).

Subotic is very good in Football Manager 2009 (don't know why I bring that up, but I did).

Serbia also has those 2 youngsters Tosic and Llanic IIRC, that Man United just signed.

Vidic is argubly the best center back in the world today.

Tosic will join the Man Utd club immediately, wearing kit #14, while Adem Ljajic will remain with Partizan until January 2010, when he is 18. Man Utd was also recently seen courting ANOTHER young Serbian, this one is 16 year old Filip Djuricic, who is widely regarded as the best player on Serbia's loaded U17 team which also features YouTube sensation Nikon Jevtic.

Ever since the disgusting display of SCG in the World Cup, they Serbian teams has undertaken a revolution of sorts, replacing older Ex-Yu players like Jevric, Duljaj, Koroman, Kezman, Milosevic, Krstajic, etc. with new talent that is dispersed all around the world. It's huge news in Serbia right now, the sheer amount of young talent from Serbia that giant clubs around the world are signing, and it all really started with Vidic going to Man Utd and establishing himself as a World Class defender.

Christiano Ronaldo won 2008 FIFA Player of the Year yesterday

He also crashed his Ferrari last week.

I would also expect Scolari to be sacked from Chelsea by the end of the season.

It also seems increasingly likely he will be joining Real Madrid.

Man City can easily afford that.

Of course, and they are absolutely trying. But Fergie said that even if the bid is 120 mil, they don't plan on moving him but reports out of Madrid today said that they had a deal in place with Ronaldo and Man Utd for 80 mil, so who knows.

Champions League is finally back today.

Yep, Man Utd have been all over Inter in the 1st half but didn't score.

Something tells me Inter are going to score in the 2nd half though.
