Butter Parque
I think it would be a good idea to have him sit out until the all-star break. I don't see his absence for the week severely harming the team and it would enable him to come back fully healthy for the start of the second half. Thoughts? Heads22
He certainly wouldn't hurt against the Red Sox. There's a better chance of retrofitting Ozuna to the DL, though.
Butter Parque
I wouldn't have a problem with Cintron at 2B for the week, but you're right, he wouldn't hurt against Boston.
Baines3
How bad was Iguchi's injury? I hope just day to day. If it were me I would rest him a few games because it is going to be a long second half of the season.
Whitewashed in '05
QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Jul 4, 2006 -> 12:56 AM) How bad was Iguchi's injury? I hope just day to day. If it were me I would rest him a few games because it is going to be a long second half of the season. Supposedly not as bad as originally thought, but the sox aren't going to risk anything. At minimum he will be out for another 2 days. Hopefully until after the ASB just to be sure though.
Swingandalongonetoleft
With the position we're in, and how valuable Gooch is to us, I'd like him to see him take a breather. Uribe has been swinging the magic stick, so why not let Cintron have his playing time at second for the rest of the week.
witesoxfan
Mackowiak can play 2B too. We don't have to celebrate all of his defensive s***tiness in CF.
Milkman delivers
I don't know about keeping him out until the All-Star Break, but I can't wait to get our guys some much needed rest. I hope Guillen doesn't even pitch Buehrle or Contreras in the ASG.
Baines3
Glad to hear it's not as bad as originally thought, I'm breathing a sigh of relief.
Dick Allen
I'm sure the Sox aren't going to risk anything. If he's able to play in 2 days, put him on the field.
Guest JimH
but I can't wait to get our guys some much needed rest. That's why I never get upset about the "Sunday" lineups. We don't know which guys are nursing aches and pains.
Heads22
FWIW, Jerry Owens did not play for Charlotte tonight. Could be nothing, could mean Ozuna could be DL'd.
Shamrock4Life
i would imagine pablo to the dl with guch sitting the rest of the baltimore series.
The Critic
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 4, 2006 -> 09:23 PM) FWIW, Jerry Owens did not play for Charlotte tonight. Could be nothing, could mean Ozuna could be DL'd. Ozzie said in the postgame presser that Pablo was available today, so I doubt a DL stint for him. I wouldn't mind it if Tadahito sat through the break, or maybe played the final game or two before the break if he's up for it. He's very important to the Sox, so they'd be smart to be really careful with him.
VAfan
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 4, 2006 -> 04:16 PM) Mackowiak can play 2B too. We don't have to celebrate all of his defensive s***tiness in CF. Yes, and as I said on the Crede post, we're better off with him at 2B than at 3B. At least he has some reaction time at 2B. He was overmatched at 3B yesterday. Put Cintron at 3B until Crede's back, then move him back to 2B while Iguchi's out. BTW -- where the hell would we be if Crede/Iguchi/Ozuna were down last year? It is nice to have enough depth to cover without having to put anyone on the DL.
