Felix
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) How many representatives do the Red Sox and Yankees have? 4 each. Edited July 5, 2006 by Felix
Milkman delivers
QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 12:49 PM) 4 each. And the White Sox have 6. Yeah, there's such a huge f***ing discrepancy between how many players we have and how many they have. So much so that it's the WHITE SOX vs. the NL. Felix
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 01:24 PM) And the funny Keith Law has an ESPN chat going on right now. Josh:( DeKalb,Il): I think that Joe Crede was an All-Star snub. Do you agree? Keith Law: (1:11 PM ET ) No, although Ozzie Guillen has made it clear that he's going to put Crede on the team, even if he has to lock A-Rod in a stall in the clubhouse bathroom to do it. I think it's time to stop letting the managers pick the extra players. This is the All-Star Game, not the White Sox vs. the NL. Todd (Boston): Keith, where's the outrage over naming Mark Buerhle to the All-Star team? Schilling, Mussina, and Liriano are all doing way better this year, and have more appeal anyway. Keith Law: (1:14 PM ET ) I think because Buerhle has some track record, people aren't as up in arms over him making the team despite the fact that he's not having an All-Star year. But yes, all three guys you named would have been better choices. I'm surprised Schilling didn't make it, since he's having a great year, has been there before, and is a well-known name. I cant wait until Neyers chat later today Ryan (Minneapolis): Keith, how about some playoff predictions? SportsNation Keith Law: (1:51 PM ET ) Sure, but don't take them too seriously. Boston, Detroit, Chicago, and Oakland in the AL. Mets, Reds, Dodgers, and Astros in the NL. Chicago and the Mets in the World Series, Chicago wins in 6. RockRaines
When Torre picks almost his whole team for the ASG its warranted, when Ozzie picks ONE, its the Sox vs the NL
Greg The Bull Luzinski
If Manny does not play, he will be replaced by Maggs. But who is in the starting line up in Manny's spot. It does not have to be Maggs, could be Dye. Thoughts?
TheBigHurt
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 09:03 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "Ozzie [Guillen] called me today and asked me," Ordonez said. "I'm excited to go." Manny Ramirez is reportedly asking out of the game due to injury, although an official announcement hasn't been made yet. OZZIE called HIM?! Brian
Isn't this the 3rd time in 5 years that Manny has declined going? I'd love for him to be in the AL lineup, but I think from now on, I'm voting for someone who wants to go.
joeynach
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 12:28 PM) Jealousy: It's a motherf***er I'll bet that you voted for AJ a bunch of times, yeah? If so, then the same s*** that you're talking (ie "nothing better to do") about Red Sox fans also applies to you. If you're a fan of a particular team, you vote for the players of that particular team, unless, of course, we're talking about wack-ass Scotty Pods. My case is that vote for the guy if he deserves to go. I did not vote 100x for Juan Uribe and Brian Anderson becuase they are on my team. You either deserve to go or you dont. Varitek is a sub .250 batter this year and was leading the catcher votes until basically the last day, thats a joke hes having an awful year and his name should have been no where near the top. I would not vote for AJ over and over if he didn't deserve it, but he does, hes hitting .327!!! QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 12:50 PM) And the White Sox have 6. I remember in the 90s all the all star teams were basically the yankees vs the NL. Torre was the manager of all the all star teams and brought in a ton of yankee players. The difference is at least all our guys are having all star caliber years and deserve. I think i remember the yankees having like Oneal, Tino, and bernie all go when they were hitting like .270-.280 with avg homer and avg rbi. whitesoxin'
I would sure hope Oz starts Dye in his spot now. If Contreras doesn't start, there has to be at least one White Sox starting, wouldn't you think? Especially with our own manager behind the helm. tealeafreaderii
I think I heard on ESPN that Ozzie is going to have Rogers start the allstar game... can anyone verify that? I would think that Halladay and Contreras would of been better choices... or are there a bunch of lefties in the front of the NL line up? Rowand44
QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 08:11 PM) I think I heard on ESPN that Ozzie is going to have Rogers start the allstar game... can anyone verify that? I would think that Halladay and Contreras would of been better choices... or are there a bunch of lefties in the front of the NL line up? He said he's leaning towards Kenny. Halladay and Contreras are both pitching on sunday, which is why they won't start.
