beautox
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 09:05 PM) If K Dub can actually get value for Cliff f***ing Pollite (esp spects) than I will never rip on him for anything (not even his analyst days) ever again. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Pollite- R.Hernandez[pirates] (and a spect or two) swap since there are rumors we are looking at him.. hahahah those were some dark days for KW

beautox
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 01:22 AM) I think Politte has more value than you guys think. You're not going to get a 5 star prospect for him, but just due to how thin relief pitching is everywhere in baseball, there will be teams who will take a shot on him. The guy was one of the best relievers in baseball last year...a team will hope that he can regain some of that form, or atleast eat some innings for them down the stretch. Cliff Politte + Ross Gload for Chris Denorfia, we solve our OF back up/lead off issues for this year(next year we have our starting LF/lead off man), and he bats right handed Edited July 10, 2006 by beautox
ZoomSlowik
If he can get useful players for AAAA players like Borchard and Baj, I'm sure he can find a fringe contender desperate enough for bullpen help to take Politte. On a side-note, when did he suddenly figure out how to throw a changeup?
Thunderin'Thome
QUOTE(beautox @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 01:03 PM) ha!, don't you know Kenny can make something out of nothing. you should have more faith in KW it would serve you well Are you retarded? I said if he pulls it off it would be a masterpiece. So that is a compliment and I do have faith in KW. beck72
Sox castoffs like Adkins, Rauch and Majewski all have sub 4 ERA's in the NL. Politte would get some looks and return someone useful to the sox-if not someone for this yr's team then for a prospect
Dick Allen
Politte would land the Sox approximately what they got for Shingo. Nada, a non-prospect. He is batting practice. I know people will say he pitched a scoreless inning the other day and that is true. Shingo pitched several scoreless innings and averaged more than a strikeout an inning. Lets not be like Cubs fans and ridiculously overvalue even the guys who have no business being on the major league roster of just about every team. Just ask yourself, why would a team give up anything of value for 3 months of Cliff Politte. Edited July 11, 2006 by Dick Allen
SoxFan76
Indians are shopping Mota? Call me crazy, and maybe I've had too much of the Coop-Ade, but would you take a chance on this guy? I guess the only difference between ressurecting a Mota and a Thornton is the fact that Mota is 32. Can't teach an old dog new tricks, as they say. But anything's better than Cliff...which is hard for me to say because I'm a fan of the guy and I'll never forget his 2005 season.
