BFirebird
Tough one for me to vote on...I went with Dye because he seems to have come up with the most clutch hits but Thome has changed the entire lineup with his power and walks. Can't go wrong with either guy really.
Sox It To Em
Dye. I love Big Jim but Dye has been so amazing it's really no competition as far as I'm concerned.
SoxAce
IMO. Jenks Dye (very close microscopic second) Thome (probably will be in the running with Ortiz this year of the MVP award after the half) Count
Gregory Pratt
Jim Thome. We had a rough first two weeks, or so. Without Thome, our record would've been far worse. And his presence along changes an entire game. He's got the best overall numbers, and even a one thousand fielding percentage! :lol My choice. NUKE_CLEVELAND
No way in hell I can pick just one out of that bunch. All of those guys have contributed massively to our success so far.
RockRaines
Listen. Dye has had an MVP type caliber season for the MLB IMO. My pick was Thome, because I sincerely believe that he has changed the way this team hits. Paulie, Dye, Crede, AJ, all of them have benefitted greatly from his addition, and I believe that is serious value to this team.

Jordan4life_2007
It's either Thome or Jenks. Thome has been the main ingredient in transforming this offense from above average to argubly the best in baseball. The impact he's had has trickled up and down this lineup. If not Thome, it's gotta be Jenks. Words can't describe how dominant he's been.

I don't think Paul's a genuine candidate this year for team MVP. It's all Thome, Dye, Count or Jenks.
Steve9347
now, I love Jermaine Dye, but I don't see him having this good a season without Jim Thome in the lineup. That's why I voted for Thome, not only the team's MVP, but the league MVP as well in the first half. Jim Thome 1st Half MVP
Drew
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 11:41 AM) now, I love Jermaine Dye, but I don't see him having this good a season without Jim Thome in the lineup. That's why I voted for Thome, not only the team's MVP, but the league MVP as well in the first half. Jim Thome 1st Half MVP I voted for JD, although for me it was a tossup between him and Thome. No single player has changed the makeup of this team like Jim Thome has, but my gut just says Dye, the other bookend of the best 3-4-5 in baseball. It's hard to argue against any of those four guys, but A.J. has also had a big half for us. He is always in the right place doing the right thing at the right time, like sliding high into second to break up a double play ball by forcing an errant throw, a play which meant the game. His average is up this year, and while he isn't popping them out of the park like Thome or Dye, he consistently moves the line. His greatest assets are his intangibles, which stats don't really measure. I think that JD has a better chance of winning AL MVP simply because he plays the field. IMO it's why Ortiz didn't win over A-Rod last year, and IMO should have. What I love about this team is how difficult a decision this is. I wish AJ were fast because he's absolutely money with nobody on base or leading off an inning. We'd be able to replace old worthless out in LF if AJ could run. RME JICO
Thome has been the Offensive MVP, but if you couple Dye's Offensive numbers with his solid D, he gets the slight edge.
GoSox05
Its tough to choose beetween these guys. Im gonna go with Dye. Hes been a rock all year putting huge number, clutch hits and solid defense. A close second would be Carl Everett tough.
