Kalapse
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 10:54 PM) Um, what the hell is a fungo bat? GASP!! HAVE YOU NEVER PLAYED BASEBALL?!?! It's a long, skinny, incredibly light bat used for pre-game drills and such. The bat is specifically designed for infield and outfield practice, this way the coach can use an very light bat for better accuracy when hitting the ball and can swing it hundreds of times without tiring. Of course it's only designed for tossing the ball up and hitting it. Edited July 12, 2006 by Kalapse
Phuck the Cubs
Um, what the hell is a fungo bat? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fungo It's good to use for a lot of stuff. This bat is nice, espically if you hate the Cubs. Edited July 12, 2006 by Cuck the Fubs

YASNY
QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 11:01 PM) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fungo Here's what it says: A fungo bat is specially designed bat used by baseball and softball coaches for practice purposes. The bat is not designed to hit thrown or pitched balls, rather it is designed to hit balls tossed up in the air. Typical fungo bats are 35-37 inches long and weigh 17-22 ounces. Coaches hit many balls during fielding practice and the weight and length allow for the coach to hit balls repeatedly with high accuracy. Joey Cora, White Sox 3rd-base coach, used one to injure Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano. The way that's worded, it sounds like Cora beat the hell out of Z with it. SoxFan76
QUOTE(Dan @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) i thought everyone was brought up using Fungo bats. Me too. Fungo is a pretty standard term. Just like playing "pickle", right? ...Right?! (FYI, I'm referring to the fact that my parents call it "running bases", not pickle. I grew up playing pickle)
