Whitewashed in '05
Damn, I didn't know Liotta was having that much trouble. Hopefully he can get back to putting up good numbers.
GoodAsGould
would of rather of seen harrel or whistler get the promotion. And rather of had Liotta in AA than rodriguez or whatevr.
Gene Honda Civic
Harrell, while having the better overall numbers, has been very average the last month. Russell, who's a couple years older, needs to be pushed. Harrell just needs to continue to improve control, while advancing a level per year. maggsmaggs
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) Harrell, while having the better overall numbers, has been very average the last month. At this rate, he will be in AAA by 23 and be in perfect sequence. Russell, on the other hand, is 23 and needs to be pushed to see how good of a prospect he is. Right now, Russell probably doesn't have much trade value, but if he succeeds at AA, his value will shoot up. 6-8 pitchers who do well have good value because of the angles they provide and the potential to add velocity as they fill out. LOL... well... Russell is already "filled-out", as they would say.
Chisoxfn
Harrel has pretty damn good sinking action and just needs to continuously work on improving his command. If he can do that he can turn into a solid pitching prospect with a chance of becoming a decent MLB starter. I don't think he'll ever emerge as a top flight prospect but should have some value down the road. Liotta is in a major funk after starting out pretty good. I'm not sure whats going on with him, but it seems as if the league has gotten to him. Hopefully he can get some confidence after making some adjustments down in A ball. DBAHO
Could Liotta be possibly injured in some sort of way? Really hard to explain how that ERA has really gone up especially after he had a fairly good start to the season. Nice to see someone from the Warthog rotation get a call up though, they've performed well all season. Hopefully Russell can make the most of it. beck72
I saw that Russell was pulled after going 3 shutout innings on the 13th vs Chattanooga. Any one know why?

Any one know why? There was a long rain delay therefore he was pulled.

BTW, Baseball America envisions Russell as a reliever down the road after he gets some innings. Do you see him as a Jon Rauch type set up guy as well?
