I think a trade of Freddy, Politte, and maybe a minor leaguer like Sean Tracey for, say, Gary Majewski, Bill Bray, plus minor leaguers Homer Bailey (SP) and Jay Bruce (OF) would get the job done.

Don't think Krivsky would give up Bray and Majewski when the bullpen has been the weakest link for the Reds so far this season.

Javy and Cash for Gordon....thats all i'm willing to offer....It would be a HUGE mistake to trade Freddy.

Javy's not going anywhere in any realistic trades.

Kenny has obviously had his eye on him (Vazquez) for the past two years, AT LEAST. He gave up Chris Young, a top 25 prospect in all of baseball and a kid on the mystical 'Three Year Board' for him. You think he's going to give up on him after three months?

I know this is repeated from the other thread, but Javy's stuff is still there. They gotta see if they can fix what's in-between his ears.

Well, if we gave them Politte, Tracey, and another AAA pitcher that could be a reliever for them, would they do it to also acquire that #1 pitcher they've been needing. Arroyo has done well, but he's no #1. Plus, can you really count on him to keep going at the pace he is the rest of the year? I don't think so. This year, stats-wise, Freddy is no #1, but you could consider him that in years past, which might be intriguing enough for the Reds to do it.

Well I think Politte is pretty much done at this point, Tracey has proven nothing but to be wild at the major league level, and some other SP's like Aaron Harang and Elizardo Ramirez have done a good job for them.

Considering how much Freddy gives up the long ball and that the GAB is a big hitters park, not really a great fit there either.

You are right on the money. The reason the Reds made this one sided deal is to get bullpen help. They aren't going to trade those two away now. No way.

From all the media outlets, KW is listening to offers, but the rumors are just that, rumors.

Daily Herald: http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/whitesox.asp?id=208283

Sun-Times: http://www.suntimes.com/output/sox/cst-spt-sside16.html

I like this one about Widger:

"I'm a pretty clear guy when it comes to establishing our position," Williams said. "The standard answer is 'make me an offer.' And I tell all these guys in [the clubhouse] that. They know. I told them all [Friday]. Chris Widger was the only one who said, 'Are you shopping me?' I said, 'I would like to, but I couldn't get anything.' Now how much more honest can you be with the players?
