RME JICO
Looks like Minnesota just got hit with the injury bug. Stewart has already missed a ton of games and now he is back on the DL: Stewart will be placed on the 15-day DL after a setback to the plantar fasciitis in his left foot, manager Ron Gardenhire said after Saturday's game. Hunter is Day-to-Day but it doesn't look good: Hunter, who struck out swinging in the first inning against Sabathia, came out of the game after playing two innings. X-rays were inconclusive and an MRI is expected Sunday. "He came in and said he couldn't run," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "It's more on the top of his foot toward the outer part of the little toe. He was hurting. He was close to having tears coming out of his eyes." That leaves their outfield desimated as they recalled Rondell White from his own rehab assignment in Triple-A. Lew Ford is also on the DL from July 13th.
DBAHO
Too bad they had to sign Erubiel Durazo to a MLC a few days back. Man if he gets back to the form he had for Oakland a few seasons back, well the Twins are going to be good. Very good.
Kyyle23
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 08:33 AM) Too bad they had to sign Erubiel Durazo to a MLC a few days back. Man if he gets back to the form he had for Oakland a few seasons back, well the Twins are going to be good. Very good. Durazo is a guy who lives on the DL. He is kind of like Kerry Wood in the "When Healthy...." aspect comes in to it.

Guest JimH
Hunter has a broken bone in his foot it sounds like he will be out for awhile. If that's the case that's a serious dent to their hopes. However they still have the pitching. They will still be tough to beat because of that. I don't see them as a contender but they will still be a tough team to play against ... as always. Milkman delivers
That means they can't trade Hunter or Stewart since they'll be out past July 31st, right?
Benchwarmerjim
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 17, 2006 -> 12:01 PM) That means they can't trade Hunter or Stewart since they'll be out past July 31st, right? that is what the TV guys were saying yesterday I guess Hunter has beeing playing with the injury for a couple of weeks and Shannon Stewart got hurt runnign to first base. Saturday nights game, the Twins had 1 bench player left. Joe Mauer who had the day off. Gardy said Jesse Crain was going to be a replacement player if anyone else got hurt ye gods. Now the outfeild is Jason Tyner in left, Nick Punto or this Rabe guy in center and Restovich in right
