It's the american league. He doesn't bat. He's just responsible for the goose egg put up by the Twins.

The hungry offense that's ready to remind the league of how powerful it really is will take care of the HR's.

Nah. Contreras is looking to put the game into his own hand, so he's going to bat for himself. Thome's taking a night off.

Three of the homers will be from the Count, and one will be inside the park.

I guess were both just assuming. We'll see which of us is closer after the night is through.

I'm guessing Santana goes about 4 and 1/3 6 runs, 2K's

ALomar is starting tonight along with Ozuna in left

Santana is due for a bad outing. It's a good thing we're getting him tonight. Look for the Sox to jump all over him early and often. This one should be a laugher and hopefully by the end of the night when Soriano officially becomes a member of the White Sox there will be alot less whiners around here.

Sox - 16 (7 HR's)

Twins - 0

Contrerras complete game shut out.

Ozuna, LF; Iguchi, 2B; Thome, DH; PK, 1B; Dye, RF; Crede, 3B; Uribe, SS; Alomar, C; Anderson, CF. Jose Contreras on the hill.

I really hope Sandy can block a Forkball in the dirt.

Is it just me, or are Poppy's predictions typically the most optimistic outcome that is humanly possible?

That being said, I'm hoping and praying that you are right, Poppy. Santana has to have a bad start every now and then, doesn't he?

Pablo isn't a bad move in left, especially when you consider Pod's numbers against Santana. Pablo is acutally batting .286 against Santana in 21 career AB's.

An argument could even be made for Alomar who is batting .250 against Santana, not bad when considering AJ is only batting .091 against him. I'm just curious to see how he handles Contreras and the rest of the pitching staff.

You know what I find most intriguing about this match-up is why WGN would rather show the Cubbies at the Mets instead of this game.

Uh, they set the season TV schedule before the season starts, when all they know is the team matchups not pitching ones.

5-0 Cleveland over Detroit in the first inning.

Just to show how pathetic the Sox offense is right now, Kenny Rogers went into his last start against us having given up 5, 5, 4, 5 runs in consecutive games. He dominated the Sox, of course, and is getting hammered again tonight.

1st and 3rd for Cleveland with 1 out.
