SoxFan1
The owner's only gave him $100 but he has received over $4,000 in total and a shot at a new life and job.
Jake
Yeah, although the owners weren't the most gracious, the man really comes out great in this deal.
southsider2k5
That's really awesome to see how everyone else stepped to the plate for this guy.
LosMediasBlancas
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 04:40 PM) The owner's only gave him $100 but he has received over $4,000 in total and a shot at a new life and job. Well yeah, but only because the owner was such a cheap ass to begin with,
Jake
Yes. So when someone finds my 20 grand, I'll give them a nickel because they will benefit more in the end from the other people.
LosMediasBlancas
QUOTE(Jake @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 01:46 AM) Yes. Jake
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 07:13 AM) I'm sure that was the guy's strategy too. Great minds think alike you know. The only difference is I would never lose something worth 20 grand in the first place.
Mplssoxfan
One you can file under: Some People's Kids. A guy left a check for substantially more than $20,000 sitting on the bar one time a few years ago. When he came back to get it, he didn't even thank me -- just took the check and left. I couldn't have cashed the damn thing if I had wanted to, obviously (it was an IRA disbursement, IIRC), and I wasn't expecting a monetary reward of any kind, but a handshake and a "Thank You" would have been nice.
