This board is going to erupt if the Twins add Lee, the Tigers add Soriano....and we do nothing. I'm not saying we have to make a major move, but some type of offensive spark would be great. It's so important for KW to add a righty outfielder who can play solid defense/run. Hell, bring back Darren Lewis from retirement.

He might have asked the wrong three. He should have asked Garcia, buehrle and vasquez. in addition, why is the chief letting the indians call the shots? Seems fishy.

What the hell did he expect Thome, Pauly, and Jermaine to tell him?

"We suck. We need more."

I don't know if Big Jimmy can string that many words together. :P :bang

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 05:24 PM)
Considering Konerko's quotes of still wanting Buerhle to have the ball if the 7th game of the WS was tomorrow, I really don't think he's the one to ask. Players are not the people to get roster advice from. They are too close to it. I have no doubt KW is still trying to improve this team. I think his quote was to show the team his confidence in them and to put them out on a limb if nothing does get done in the next couple of days. Like I said earlier, if the starting pitching doesn't improve, it really will not matter if KW acquires nobody else, or 3 or 4 All Stars.

What's PK supposed to say? Would it be better of he ripped Buehrle in the media?

Not rip him, but the 7th game of the WS was something that came from his mind. He could have said he'll be fine, and what are these guys supposed to say to KW, that the $100 million roster he put together isn't good enough? The last reason KW is going to stand pat would be because his players told him so. But if nothing gets done, he will use it for some sort of motivation and use it to show confidence. Something like, you told me you were good enough to win, and that's good enough for me, now go out there and win. There isn't 1 WS defending champion in history that added $25 million to their payroll who have players that would dare tell the GM who put the team together that they aren't good enough to beat teams being paid a lot less.

I still think there will be a move of some sort for the White Sox.

I understand the vote of confidence from KW and Guillen, they wanted this roster. However, things have a unique way of changing at the last minute during trade deadline time.

I totally agree, I really think we'll be seing a Brady Clark type player added to the roster by August 1st.

Exactly, nice call Kalapse. I agree that it will be this type of move, if the rumors of KW pulling out of the Soriano sweepstakes are to be believed.

The thing is, you never know with KW. And things have a weird way of changing the last few days of July. The Contreras-Loaiza deal came together with one hour to go.

And the over reaction on this board has reach an all time high.

:lookatme

I was looking for the eyeroll, and decided this was better.

Who's to say that these two are not our best pitchers in September?

Yeah, this conversation's over.

I hope the no trade is a fact. Our pitchers are proven, maybe just tired. The bullpen with Riske & MacDougal is greatly improved. And we still have B Mac, Fields, Owens and Sweeney. I'd like to see some adreneline injected into this team by a guy like Owens

A guy hitting .261 in aaa isn't going to spark anything.

Every comment, every idea just gets negative responses. It aint just the team that is having gyroscope trouble.

Well what exactly do you want from Jerry Owens? He really has no spot on the team at the moment and I don't understand how he'd spark the Sox at all.

I heard that the reason Timo got his one million dollar contract extension last year was because he delivered a very convincing powerpoint presentation.

I just joined this board the other day, been reading it extensively. This is the first time I've actually laughed out loud.
