CWSOX45
Found this on Yahoo, this is all just speculation. He thinks the White Sox will end up dealing for Carlos Lee...right Jeff. Other than that, it's kinda an interesting read.... http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AuXf...o&type=lgns
Kyyle23
Ha, that guy is pulling names from a hat. Brian Anderson, Josh Fields, AND Ray liotta for Lee? No way in heck KW makes that deal for a rent a player who he traded away a little over a year ago.
RME JICO
Yeah, That is horrible. There is no way the Sox are going to trade that much for Lee. I would also be very surprised if the Twins got Soriano as well.
daa84
QUOTE(rudylaw @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:15 AM) That is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard of. 3 studs for Lee. Can lee pitch? liotta is far from a stud, but i agree it is dumb
iamshack
How do these writers get their jobs? I don't expect them to know every little detail about every team, but they could at least know the basics if they are going to start blindly speculating about deals... GoSox05
On the radio this morning they were saying this Alfanso Soriano - Tigers C. Lee - Twins just fishing great.

Lee - Twins just fishing great. The Sox are better than both of those teams, with or without those guys. They need to just worry about themselves, and not whatever the Tigers or Twins are doing...and you should too. I don't give a spiff what the Tigers or Twins do, the Sox don't need any help...just win, and everything else will take care of itself. All you should care about is W's right now. We've been hearing this all year, and it's probably the same crap that Twins/Indians fans were saying last year. The Tigers are the best team in the AL Central, and have been basically all season. If the Tigers add Soriano, their lineup will be better than ours, their pitching will be better, and their defense will be better.
WCSox
There was speculation after the '04 season that Lee was dealt partially because Ozzie didn't like the way that he played (e.g., not sliding hard into 2nd to break up double plays). I have no idea if it's true or not, but if so it's highly unlikely that El Caballo will be in a Sox uniform this anytime soon.
Shamrock4Life
^yeah right now the tigers and twins both have better pitching staffs and adding on the sluggers for both of those teams will put them at best even with our lineup. i would much rather that not happen. My Dixie Normus
Even though he's improving, Anderson remains a liability at the plate, and by moving Podsednik to center field and putting Lee in left, the White Sox would shore up their lineup considerably and simply hope the pitching comes around. Brian Anderson is hitting .308 in July. He added 31 points to his average this month. Not spectacular season totals but he continues to improve and gain confidence in the box. Defensively, he is a huge improvement over Pods. A few years from now we will look back and he will be a .260-.280 career hitter. That will be fine. This "liability" tag is crap. CWSOX45
Lee to the Rangers....so that leaves Soriano still out there. I really think we'll see Soriano dealt later today or tomorrow. Bowden can't keep his demands this high....
GreatScott82
Looks like the Rangers are serious about winning that West title. It makes their offense even scarier. However, their pitching is still suspect. Look for Soriano to head back to New York or off to Detroit, he IS NOT coming here. KW believes that this team doesn't need any possition player. He even told all the guys that they won't be traded. If anything, we will get 1 more middle reliever (Roberto Hernandez). KW and Ozzie are thinking about using a 12 man pitching staff: Contereras, Buerhle, Garcia, Garland, Vazquez, Jenks, Cotts, Thorton, Macdougal, Riske, McCarthy, and (a new reliever). This can be good, because with the way Javy pitches in the first 5 innings, they can take him out after 5 and plug in some of our reliable relievers. Kinda strange to me that you have A LOT more faith in the Tigers this year than you did the Sox last year. You were the only one (and you turned out to be right) that said the division race wasn't over when the Sox were up 15 games in August. The Tigers are up 8 1/2, and you've all but conceded the division to them. Not trying to start anything. I just find that a little strange. I think it's entirely possible for the Tigers to fade and not make the playoffs at all. If they struggle against the Santana/Liriano combo the rest of the way, the Twins will be in a great position to overtake them. I'm not conceeding anything to them....just that so far this year, they've been awesome (as were we at this exact point last season).
