Jordan4life_2007
C'mon, Jon. We need you to stay hot. Now that we've won the first game, anything less than a sweep will be a big dissapointment.

Wanne
QUOTE(Reddy @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 03:08 PM) anybody else worry about facing a rookie making his debut? they always tend to do well against us... I am. The past few years...it always seems that some schmoe that just gets called up throws a 4-hitter against the Sox in their debut.
danman31
Johnson spent 3 years in rookie ball, has never even made it to AAA, and had a 4.13 ERA in AA. We better rock him. Oh and opponents hit .328 off him in July. The Barons could rock this guy. Edited July 29, 2006 by danman31

fathom
QUOTE(Reddy @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 08:40 PM) whoa scotty with a long ab! With this guy, there's no worry about getting his pitch count up. You just hope they can do some damage and capitalize on bad pitches.

fathom
So far, he looks like a Sox pitching prospect. His fastball is in the high 80s, and he hasn't shown control of his curve. He seems to have some sinking action on his fastball. Hopefully our hitters go with some of the pitches to the opposite field. danman31
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) So far, he looks like a Sox pitching prospect. His fastball is in the high 80s, and he hasn't shown control of his curve. He seems to have some sinking action on his fastball. Hopefully our hitters go with some of the pitches to the opposite field. His minor league numbers seem similar to that as well. Low strikeout rate, but also low walk rate. Overall above average minor league performer.

fathom
Some more terrible base running by the Sox. Cora can't keep waving these guys, and then hold them at the last second. How are we not able to score from 2nd on a 2 out hit?
