7/29/06 White Sox v. Orioles

Recommended Posts

How about one of those 3 run homers that Uribe started to hit prior to the ASB?

Uribe with the line shot single, Sox lead.

And that's what I mean about the players being responsible for execution. Note how Leo Mazzone, reputed to be one of the better pitching coaches in the game, comes out for a few words of wisdom to calm down the pitcher after he hit Gload. Smart thing to do by Mazzone. And yet the kid pitcher still fails to execute a good pitch.

how quickly we forget Royce Clayton and D'Angelo Jimenez

Jimenez wasn't a bad hitter at all. Come on, he had a great walkoff single against the Cubs.

Pods is really making his presence felt today.

He's the only reason the Orioles have a chance in this game.

Or what about Baines in his last time around with the Sox? The DH without the H.

I still have nightmares of that game in Arizona where we had a rally in the 9th and for the 3rd out, Jiminez was tagged out at 2nd, trying to advance on a play he never should have.

He might have had the worst instincts on the bases I've ever seen.
