fathom
QUOTE(Soxman72 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) That could have been a DP in the infield was at normal depth, but oh well If you're going to walk the guy to load the bases, you have to play the infield back to try and get the DP. zenryan
way to go Oz. maybe your ass will realize that Javy sucks after 5 innings. get BMac in there and trade Javy for sunflower seeds or something. and I have seen teams bring someone else in for the 9th when your closer has pitched 2 days in a row! danman31
QUOTE(Soxman72 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) That could have been a DP if the infield was at normal depth, but oh well Yeah, there is really no reason for Iguchi to be playing in there. You need to turn a double play.

G&T
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) One of the worst losses of the year IMO. Swear to mother fishing god nothing can click at the same time. These last two days have been an exhibition for the problems of this team. All offense, and garbage pitching that can't hold leads.
southsideirish71
QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) jenks = gassed. He wasnt gassed. His velocity was fine. He threw a few curves over for the first batter, and then tried to overthrow his fastball. He plunked Tejada. Then they realized that all they had to do was look for one pitch. Bad game all around, except for Dye.

Friend of Nordhagen
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) Well, that sucked. Let the meltdown begin. Jenks...use your curveball once buddy! He seldom has the curveball on a second consecutive day. On the third day, I'm guessing it was just not an option. As always -- and justifiably -- I blame Vazquez. Bad game all around, except for Dye. When Jenks has been most effective this year, he used the offspeed pitch with 2 strikes. He hasn't thrown as many fastballs passed hitters this season as he did last year.

Hits a guy that winds up being the tying. Well, he's tired. Sox need to blow the Royals out the next couple of games to give him a rest. And also: this is only his second blown save of the season. He's going to blow some saves, you can't think he's going to save every game, even the best blow some. It's impossible not to. Tip your hat to the Orioles for getting a couple of clutch hits and go get the Royals tomorrow. Edited July 30, 2006 by champ

Whitewashed in '05
They fought hard to come back, Dye did a good job, but Jenks has a problem with the Orioles. Sucks badly, but at least we won the first 2.
