TitoMB345
QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:36 PM) I don't know who to blame and I don't care. Thanks Thornton for a dandy save. Thanks Oz for not leaving in Mac Dougal like you did Brandon last night. Thanks for taking the Royals lightly and blowing opportunities and losing a game we needed to win. I call bullspiff. It was the right move to go to Thorton, Matt just had a bad night. I bet you if he left MacDougal in there, people would have called for Matt, saying Ozzie is mismanaging this game. I gaurentee it. southsideirish71
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:37 PM) The Sox need a K here. Thornton has a much better chance at that than Riske. Will Ozzie play the infield in? Actually with 1 out we needed a double play. Which we got. Good call there.

greg775
Unf***ing credible. I am absolutely shocked we got out of that inning tied. We need to take the Royals seriously and beat their ass now that it's extra innings. Wake up boys and win the game!!!

fathom
QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 02:38 AM) They did not go up and under his hands with the good fastball, which is his weak spot. Riske throws the DP ball, we have a chance here. This goes back to what we talked about. Both Thornton and Cotts can't pitch inside against lefties. Neither have overly pinpoint control, and they throw their fastballs to the outside corner about 99 pct of the time. Marte was the same way actually. Mr. Showtime
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:37 PM) This is all because of the remarkable civility we displayed tonight. Bastards, all of you. Let me tell you something dude, it happened because some people here just didn't believe in the power of Hulkamania brother. I bet you if he left MacDougal in there, people would have called for Matt, saying Ozzie is mismanaging this game. I gaurentee it. The formula is one inning of mac, one of thornton and one of jenks. We heard the same thing on Sunday from people saying, why did we pull thornton after such an easy inning. Hard throwers sometimes get dinked and dunked. It happens. Matt has been pretty damn good for us all year long.

Crede went off, Mark looked solid after the first two innings, and we played basically a very solid, fundamental game until the little explosion by Matt, but luckily we got out with the tie. greg775
Maybe Tito, but to me it seemed just like last night. Brandon pitched the eighth great and stayed the ninth and an uneventful save. Same for MacD tonight. Decent eighth probablly woulda mowed em down in the ninth for uneventful save. That said, if we can't beat KC we don't deserve whatever befalls us. We still can beat them in extras even though Mark deserved a win.
