My Dixie Normus
Is it just me? Or does anyone else look at the delivery of McDugal and McCarthy and think they strain to pitch the ball? It seems as if so much arm effort goes into thier pitching that eventually it is going to catch up with them.

Much unlike Kerry Wood, his arm motion does not put a whole lot of strain on his arm. I haven't really watched Macdougal yet, but I will and let you know. RockRaines
BMAC has alot of elbow strain, but does come over the top which isnt as bad.
Milkman delivers
Haha, MacDougal. It's been spelled wrong in about 10 different ways on this site. Also, we need nicknames for both of them. Mac doesn't cut it anymore.

BMac could really benefit from a stronger, thicker core. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 01:14 PM) Haha, MacDougal. It's been spelled wrong in about 10 different ways on this site. Why does everyone have to have lame nicknames. Why not Brandon? Or McCarthy? Or MacDougal? I leave the nicknames up to the expert. (Hawk) Bmac, Black Mac, Mack Daddy, Mack a doodle doo, enough with the lame nick names! QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) Leave him alone! No reason to be a grammar Nazi. I leave the nicknames up to the expert. (Hawk) Bmac, Black Mac, Mack Daddy, Mack a doodle doo, enough with the lame nick names! Well, Bmac has been Bmac for quite awhile from what I understand. As in, he's been called that from childhood. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 02:12 PM) No, I think McCarthy has one of the nicest throws in the league. Brandon McCarthy has an incredibly violent delivery, this has been a knock on him for quite some time now. It puts a good amount of strain on his elbow and is something I believe he's worked on in the past. So yeah, you really couldn't be more wrong. As in, he's been called that from childhood. I thought Bernie Mack had copyrighted that name a long time ago. Now he is damn funny and truly Black Mack. I hate it how Brandon McCarthy continues to live on the coat tails of Bernie Mack. Why can't Brandon be original for once? If you don't like it, don't call him that. Jeez. I can't stand poor grammar/poor spelling. We're all adults here, the least we can do is type like one. We are not all adults here, first of all. I'm not, but beside me, there's a reason there are swear filters (though I hate the darn things), and that's that this is a site with kids and that'll realistically have kids visit here and there. The way I figure is, if you can comprehend someone's post, it's fine as far as grammar and spelling. It's not like people are posting like they're imbred or in ebonics, so mellow out. zygoat
Bmac seems like he doesnt put alot of stain on the ball, But his shoulder could become a problem. Bmac wieghts less than me but can throw 3X harder. His over the top is safer than 3/4 or sidearm... its more natural
alexgtp
Bmac seems to have good mechanics. Leg kick, torque multiplication and he also throws over the top. All this leads to a smooter delivery. Does not look violent at all. Macdougal. He seems to put alot of akward excessive motions but it seems to multiply his torque more.. I feel that is shy he has control issues. Not so smooth.
