whitesoxfan101
"With all these teams losing in the NL, even the Cardinals.....we're still in this thing!" -Ron Santo during game 2 of the doubleheader today. He's aware the Cubs would have to play 20 over the rest of the way (which is only what, 52 games? So that would be 36-16?) to go 82-80, which still isn't good enough, isn't he? (And before you say it, I only heard it on accident because I was changing the station and passed 720, lol).

Jordan4life_2007
Hawk is nowhere near the tool Ron Santo is.

However Hawk is just as big a homer as Santo, which is why I don't like him very much.
SoxFan76
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) Which is why I strongly dislike both of them (although Santo is far worse than Hawk, but then again he has had diabetes for decades so I guess that's understood). Screw Santo. He was given the great celebrity treatment for his diabetes while my grandpa was left in a wheel chair with an amputated leg due to gangrene. Santo also had an amputation, yet he was soon on the golf course. My grandpa lived the rest of his life in excruciating pain in a wheel chair. Oh, and on top of it all, Santo was one of the biggest jerks in professional sports. Good things happen to good people...BS. Sorry, not a fan of marble mouth. lol
