I'm pointing out how good he's been over the course of the entire season. Am I supposed to bow and scrape and pretend that Garland is an ace because he's on a hot steak? Instead, I choose to call 'em as I see 'em.

Its called streaks. Every one of our hitters have/are going through them. Pitchers are allowed to go through the same. Like right now, Buehrle minus his last start with Alomar, has been absolute spiff in about the same timeframe. How is he in your eyes for the entire season then?

Jon Garland is a young proven ML pitcher who if he was not signed would get a $50M+ contract following this season but with all due respect the genius of Sox fans want to run him out of town after every bad outing. At the end of the day he is better than Mark Buerhle but you would think Buerhle walks on water.

Does excellent season and a bunch of crappy seasons make you a "proven ML pitcher"? If so, what has he proven? That you don't know from month to month what you're going to get from him? That he's inconsistent? That he's unreliable? If so, I agree.

And no, he's not better than Buehrle and their differences in success throughout their careers proves that. And, Buehrle has pitched better this season...that is if actualy performance on the field means anything to you.

Over the course of the season he has a 4.99 ERA which is crap. That's ok only for a #5 starter. His WHIP isn't much better because he's given up a ton of hits. His K/9 is the same mediocre it has been all of his major league career. That's what I think of his entire season. My opinion of his season will be considerably different if he keeps up this hot streak for the remainder of the season. I'm not optimistic.

wow, base hit by buck, now kc gets 2 in on a single, 4-3 against santana

Obviously, its still way too early, but if the White Sox beat Halladay and KC beats Santana, the tide could finally be turning. The odds you probably could get on that in Vegas must be staggering.

I'm speaking of Buehrle, not Garland...how is HE in your eyes for the season then? Buehrles WHIP is 0.05 better than Garlands coming into tonight, yet I bet he is much better in your mind.

I'm not saying Garland is a better pitcher than Buehrle, but give some credit where its due. Garland made adjustments concerning his slider, and is pitching much better now. Buehrle, before the Alomar battery, had been absolutely dreadful for the last month and a half.

So is Brian Anderson still one of the worst players in baseball?
